:cool1: Thought this would be fun!!How did you find the DISboards? And how did it help your vaccation?:cool1:

I stumbled across the Disboards a couple of years ago while scouring the internet for information on Disney vacation planning. I would read and read and soak up the information. I love reading trip reports and reviews. I only recently registered and started posting. I do not always have the time to regularly log on so I felt that I couldn't participate. This year we are going to Universal for the first time and I see that there isn't nearly as much information on Universal as there is on Disney. It is great to have a resource were everyone is willing to share their experiences and knowledge.

thanks to all who offer their help.

You say you have limited time to research. The US-IOA forum has all the info you need!!!Just ASK!! I promise on this forum, you will know more then ever before:goodvibes

Keep posting, we love to give suggestions!!

I also stumbled across them and asked many questions and have ALWAYS gotten an answer. Everyone on here is most helpful and have always saved my family money. We have been to Disney/Universal for the past 15 years and I always look at the boards before I go for updates, etc. I guess my next step is to become a sponsor.

Keep up the good work!

:goodvibes

You know this is really bad, but I found the DIS boards back in December by google searches, quickly became addicted and used all the info to plan my holiday, but it wasn't until about 3 or 4 weeks ago that I found the Universal section :(

The main reason was that the link I used to the DIS was for the Disney Forums section, so I didnt realise there were more forums within the DIS.

I must admit since finding the US section it's become my favourite (with the Disney Restaurants forum a close second!)

without you guys I wouldn't even be aware of HHN - and that is easily going to be the highlight of my trip!!

So THANKS!!!!!!!!!

:cool1: :thumbsup2  :yay:

We are always happy to spread the word about HHN...it's THE Halloween event of the year! :teeth:

It was mentioned in one of the Touring books I bought - can't remember which

My sister is a HUGE Disney fan, me..no so much. But we have always loved US. She told me about the US boards...I've learned sooooo much. I didn't know about it before our first trip to US in 2003 and missed out on Lowes card etc. So glad to know about it now...

Several years ago, I was searching for Disney info and discovered wdwinfo.com which is linked to the DISboards. So I started reading it for Disney information. As time went by, I started spending more time in the Universal sections and less in the Disney sections. Now I read these boards for Universal information only.

Found the boards for my first Disney trip in 2001 and I don't think I've logged off since then.:rotfl:

Regularly stick to the Community Board, but all the boards are so valuable depending upon the type of trip we're planning.

bought last years unofficial guide to Walt Disney World....and there it was.

I've been addicted ever since...

I found the DISboards back in the late 90's. I've been a member here for a long time and I love this place. Its the best discussion boards on the net.

The Disboards are a help to me in planning my vacations to Orlando even after all these years. It helps me keep informed. I love when DH comes home with a "guess what is going on at Disney" - I love that I know before him, lol!

Found DIS and Allears and Mousesavers all in 2000. They have saved me lots of money at WDW, with codes and tips etc. Now I am on the US boards as we are planning our first trip there next year.

:lmao: Every chance I get I'm on here, somwhere also!!

I was at another Universal message board, asking around for pics of the Portofino resort and someone sent me a link to pictures here. So I stuck around for awhile and I don't use any other Universal message board. :goodvibes

I can't even remember as it has been almost 8 years.

I "think" I saw a reference to it on the new Mousesavers board.

It all started with planning a Disney trip and then came over to the Universal boards for our 2001 Universal trip. I have been parked here ever since!

Over the years, I have gotten some great tips here like the alert that for few weeks the RPR was doing club for a $99.00 grand opening special. From Fan club discounts to the Entertainment Book to now Supersaver and AAA, the DIS has been the most current on any room and ticket discounts out there.

I even got my first tag from this board back in 2001 :teeth:
