1st c-section, after a full day of contractions at home headed to the hospital and discovered DD was breach (she was in position just two days earlier). Just had DS by c-section 7 weeks ago, scheduled and went perfectly. Second recovery was soooo much easier than the first!!

My First was a C-section, but the next two were VBAC's. Im happy for all those that enjoyed their C-sections, but I would never do that again if I could avoid it! I had an extremely hard recovery and ended up back in the hospital after delivery to reclose the incision. I would rather push them out than be cut open any day!

Ditto on these thoughts! I had one both ways and the c/s was awful. It was not planned so maybe that was a factor however it was that searing gut pain everytime you moved to fast that I hated. I had plenty of stiches after the vbac too but it was a much quicker recovery.

C-section with no labor on first, because of placenta previa. 2 VBACS for baby 2 & 3 --- I'd never choose a section if there were any choice in the world. The recovery after the va-j-j births were soooo much easier.

C-Section in 1982 for my first. He was due May 27th and with NO baby on June 14th, my MD said we are taking him. He was a WHOPPING 10 pounds. I actually had to take the "coming home" outfit BACK to the store and get a BIGGER SIZE...ugh...

I had an ultrasound a few days prior and the MD called to say he was BIG and possibly 10 lbs. WHATTTTTT , I am going to be in the NATIONAL ENQUIRER, I cried to DH...."MA WOMAN GIVES BIRTH TO HUGEST BABY"!!!! I was a wreck. ...

Oh well, that was 23 years ago!!! And DS is healthy, wealthy and wise...well not exactly sure about the last two adjectives BUT def healthy!!!

Va-J-J for all three labors (and four children).

#1 seemed really easy in retrospect. DH says I slept during labor while he sat up all night waiting (I wasn't sleeping--I was deep breathing!). Got to the hospital at 12:30 a.m. dilated 4 cm and had baby by 6:30 a.m.

#2 was 4 days late. Went to OB appointment and was dilated to 7 cm WITHOUT LABOR. OB wouldn't let me go home. Broke my water and made me walk two hours, then had baby within hour of labor starting.

#3 (twins) were 39w 1d. OB was petrified I'd have them in the car. She was almost right--first one arrived less than 20 minutes after pulling up to the hospital. And to think DH had wanted to stop at the drive thru to grab some lunch on the way!

None of my boys were a C--though the last one came close to it. Im glad it wasnt because the epi's dont work well on me and I still feel a lot, if not everything. I would hate to have been knocked out for it.

I have had two c-sections, one natural in between. My first c-section I was an idiot. I knew nothing about having a baby and put all my trust into my doctor instead of reading something besides "What to Expect When You're Expecting". Determined not to do that again, I read and read and read and found an ob practice where the docs and midwives were of the opinion that a woman's body was actually capable of birth without intervention. DS was born naturally. DD2 was going great until I woke up one morning with swollen feet and hands and a headache. A few hours later there was nausea and blurred vision. That c-section was agreed upon by me and the doc on call. My liver and kidneys weren't doing well and it was time for my little one to come.

My best piece of advice to all expectant moms - your doctor is not God. They can be trusted sources of information, but keep your eyes open. A doctor who limits your labor if you don't progress in xxx amount of time, or one who insists on continuous fetal monitoring or induction for no good reason is not a good one. 30% of the population does not need a c-section. Something is wrong here.

After 18 hours of labour and dilated at 4 1/2 cm--it was a c section. Diana was 9 lbs 9 oz

My first was a c-section. She was 10 lbs 3 oz and I was not progressing after being induced for two days. My Dr with my boys basically sounded like he thought a LOT had to do with my Dr for DD and he very well could be right. The guy was kind of a doof.

The boys were both va-j-j. Man, talk about an improvement!! I went from being sure a week after giving birth that I could never go through that again to saying to DH after the first DS was born. "That was cool! I could do that again!"

For the record the boys were 9lbs, 9ozs and 10lbs, 12 oz and were both induced two weeks early so it wasn't the size or the inducing that was the problem the first time around.

I also would not choose a C-section. I hated the spinal and being numb and not being able to move so badly, I panicked and they needed to give me something to help me relax. To this day I'm somewhat claustrophobic when it somes to something holding my legs down.

My first was a c-section. At 39w I was dialated or efaced at all and the baby was measuring at around 10lbs. The doctor gave me a choice, induction or c-section. Something told me to agree to a c-section. I told the doctor that I would rather plan one than need an emergancy one. Well the next day Ds was born. He was "only" 8lbs 5oz, but his cord was wrapped around his neck twice, so he wasn't going anywhere on his own. I am very thankful to have listened to myself.

This one will be another c-section. My doctor told me that VBACs are more dangerous than they originally thought. Again I would rather a planned c-section, where my baby's life is not in danger, than an emergancy one. JMHO

Mine was a V delivery.

My SIL had her first via c-section due to a breach baby (couple of factors they decided against trying to turn the baby). Hoping to do a VBAC for a second child when they have another one.

My sis was a V delivery for her first. She's not having any more (this was decided at conception when she decided being pregnant sux!)

DD was by C-section because she was positioned all wrong -- diagonal with head up & feet dangling! It was scheduled 9 days before due date & she was still 9lbs, 5oz. I was planning to try VBAC with DS, but my doctor was afraid I'd be at higher risk for uterine rupture because he was so big. So, second scheduled section 9 days before due date. This time, baby weighed in at a whopping 10lbs, 15oz. He looked like a little summo wrestler! Funny, though, now at almost 5 years old, he's so skinny!

DS was a c-section. 36 hours of labor, only dialated to 5. My water had been broken for quite some time. I had PIH and GD, so I was being induced 3 weeks early. Which I am sure contributed. But, he is here, and safe, and beautiful. I don't care how he got here...as long as he did.
