How did you decorate your nursery?

I did a primary colors theme when I got pregnant with DS. THe ceiling fan had blades each of a primary color, the walls were white, and the wall border was a primary blue with different jungle animals each in a primary color. Curtains yellow, shelves red, etc. It stayed that way for DD.

The Circle of Life theme came frome the baby department at Burlington Coat Factory. I actually had my heart set on a Pooh theme and then my mom took me there to check out prices of cribs. And in one of those cribs there it was. DD is actually the one that saw it first and told me she wanted her baby brother's room to look like that...I didn't want to let her down so we switched to that theme :)

They also have some baby Simba stuff at Wal Mart. Well, they might not anymore because last time I was there they had it all on clearance. They probably still have some stuff left though. I was able to buy a lamp and his mobil at Wal Mart for REALLY cheap (less than $15 together). I think Kmart is suppose to have some Simba stuff too, but i'm not sure since they're all going out of buisness now.

The color of the paint is called Fairy Green :)

I have a wonderful friend who took time to do my child's first nursery. I had a terrible pregnancy and was on complete bedrest for the entire 1st trimester. Just as I was almost released to get up and have a "normal" pregnancy, my mom had a stroke and ended up moving in with us. We had no time to do anything but take care of her - unfortunately my other 5 sisters and brothers bailed out on us in the help department. Enter the 3rd trimester and I was hospitalized at 30 weeks. DS was born 8 weeks premature. When I went in the hospital, my friend took it upon herself to not only paint the nursery but bought wallpaper and put it up for me. She knew it was really important for me to have it done for the baby and I couldn't do it. She picked out a wonderful bear/clown/sheep pastal green pattern. In fact, it's still up there. Our younger DS is now almost 3 and ready to move into a big boy room. It will be hard to replace the love of friendship in the nursery though.

cgcw~ That was so wonderful of your friend to do that for you!

missymouse~Thanks for the well wishes! We have another cycle in Feburary. It just "feels right" this time ... if that makes ANY sense!

I will have to check the Burlington Coat Factory/Baby Depot here to see if they have the circle of life theme!! That is really neat!
We also like the moon & stars idea. I have seen alot of that stuff around lately!

Thanks for all the graet ideas :)

I have seen the Circle of Life theme bedding at KMart.

My DD had Pooh bedding along with the matching wall stickies. Plus we had bought the giant sized stuffed Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit & Eeyore.

And DS, the baby, has baby Snoopy.
I just bought at WalMart two weeks ago a baby Snoopy sports toddler size bed set for him for when he's older. It's too cute.:)

Had bears and bunnies with mint green and checkerboard boarder half way up in yellow, pink & blue, which I stenciled. I wanted to do my DD's nursery in Raggedy Ann & Andy but in 96 I couldn't find much. They now have it at JC Penney's.

Besides DISNEY??? What else is there? ;) Of course that's the way we went - Disney babies.

We didnt find out the sex, so that kinda made it hard to find bedding that I liked and that would work with either a boy or a girl....... I ended up buying fabric and making the bumpers, crib ruffle, curtians, diaper stacker (which was very very hard! And came out lopsided.... opps I mean homemade looking! LOL)

The fabric was this wonderfully colored tropical fish pattern...... so vibrant and fun.

The bumper was easy to make as was the crib skirt..... but that diaper stacker! YIKES!!

It was a fun project for me to do since I was not allowed to work anymore, yet not on strict bedrest.

I would on never ever thought that I would get to use it a third time! :teeth:

We decorated our nursery with Disney Babies wallpaper on the top half of the walls, then the bottom half was a pale wood paneling with chair-rail molding in between. All of the accessories had Disney Babies as well.

Before (ex)-DH and I were evening planning to start a family, we went to WDW with another couple and while we were there we bought the cutest switch-plate cover, in the shape and design of Cinderella's Castle. We put the switch plate cover away for a couple of years, until we were decorating our nursery. That switch plate cover is still in DS14's bedroom at my ex-DH's house (ex-DH still lives there), and DS said he'll leave it there even though the wallpaper is long gone. lol

I decorated DS11's nursery with a bear theme, all kinds of bears, including Winnie the Pooh. :)

We did jungle animals too. It was kind of cartoon like jungle animals and very cute. The problem is that DD never spent one single night in her crib or in that nursery. She's almost 6 now and sleeps in her own room (Classic Pooh) sometimes

DD#1 has a sandcastle room. We painted 3 walls a warm peach color with a sand color over it, and then put up a border that has sandcastles in it. Then we painted the last wall an oceany green-blue. She loves it. DD#2 is about to get her room "officially" decorated. We have a lavender/pink/blue Twinkle Twinkle Little Star blanket that DH's step mom made and we are using those colors to put color on the walls and I have a Sleeping Beauty poster that will go on the wall there.

My family are friends are shocked  that we didn't choose a Disney theme for our nursery. Early in my pregnancy we considered the Circle of Life/Baby Simba theme and then Mickey Mouse Nursery Rhymes but that was discontinued. Now we have chosen the John Lennon "Real Love" theme and painted the room this weekend to match the wallpaper border. The theme is jungle animals and is similar to the Circle of Life theme.
