How did you decide between BWV & BCV?

I am having such a hard time deciding where to add on. Adding on is inevitable (I've been hinting to DH but will only use cash...) I am just torn on which I like better. I have been to both resorts but have never stayed at both, and I am not sure I have the patience to wait until next year to try one, then try another the next year, then decide, etc. We are going home to OKW in September, and I am thinking maybe I will love it SO much there that I'll just add on there which would be easier.

I have read tons of posts about benefits at both, but I am just wondering how people decided when it came down to it? The standard view points are very appealing to me, but I don't want to be shut out of ressies at BCV in the future when I have to reserve at 7 months since I know I'll want to stay there too... :sunny:

So, add on at all three resorts! :teeth: That's actually what I did, in a way. I bought in at BW, loved it, and added on two contracts and an add-on. Then BC opened and I added on 100 pts. there. It wasn't a good fit for us, we felt it was too much like BW, so we sold the 100 pts and bought an add-on at OKW. We loved it so much that we purchased a resale contract there! :cheer2:

It was easy for us - when we bought in 2000 Boardwalk was what was selling. It is a great fit for us and we love it. The only difference to me is SAB and since we aren't big pool people that doesn't matter.

We stayed at Beach Club once this past December and liked it, but we are very very happy with our Boardwalk home.

Our add-on decision was easy too. We owned at OKW and added on at OKW. I wanted the 11 month use of ALL our points at the same place.

We simply love the ambience at BCV. To us, that was even more important than SAB, Epcot and the other reasons that people cite. It's a matter of personal preference and not particularly susceptible to logic. Follow your heart.

We faced the same delimma in 2003 when we were making our first DVC purchase. We chose BWV because the kids were nearly teens and the BW would eventually appeal to them more than SAB; standard view points were less than BCV points; and, a BWV resale would be cheaper than buying BCV direct from Disney. (I know; that no longer applies in your case.)

LIke most things in life, it just comes down to priorities. Assuming you don't want to add on at both places, what is the most important thing you are looking for in an add-on?

If you don't care about the theming or ambiance, then it comes down to some practical things.

Owning at BWV means having the best chance at getting Standard View rooms and their "point discount". It also offers the best chance at getting Boardwalk Views if that's important.

Owning at BCV means having the best chance at getting access to SAB.

If you can't prioritize, go the other way. If you could never get SV or BWV rooms vs never going to BCV, which would disappoint you more?

Good luck...there is no bad decision here! :)
