Does anyone know how the two resort (Vero Beach Resort and especially Hilton Head Island Resort) held up with Hurricane Isabelle?

i read yesterday, that as far as HH, they didnt even get rain just winds. so, i asume VB didnt get anything either and both places are safe and awaiting there new guests.:sunny:

I will be in HHI next week. I will let you know when I get back.

I found this on the "Island Times" which bills itself as Hilton Head's on-line newspaper. Looks like they weren't effected at all.:

HURRICANE ISABEL SLAMS THE US EAST COAST

Hurricane Isabel, now downgraded to a Tropical Storm, slammed the coastal area of North Carolina & Virginia on Thursday fortunately bypassing South Carolina. The warning for local swimmers is to beware of dangerous rip tides.

Here's a link to the actual paper Island Times

In the VB area there was actually more beach replentishment than erosion. However the riptides have been moderate to severe.

Hi,

We just returned from Vero last night. Weather was great except for showers here and there on Wednesday.

Surf was beautiful and wild, with surfers enjoying the water all day long on Wed and Thurs. The bottom of the boardwalk washed away on Wednesday and the beach access was roped off until Thursday, when tides still seemed higher than normal.

A few employees were talking about coming back on the weekend with their metal detectors.

Thanks for the update on VB.

I am glad to hear that there wasn't any problems/damage to the beach resorts. Errosion is always the worst enemy along the beaches.
