How did Romano die on ER?

I missed the ep. entirely :( I had choir rehearsals and didn't think to tape it. I will also miss next week's due to being at Disney :)

Also, I have to admit that I didn't like this character...he was too mean at times.

Why is it all of these ER people are being killed off? Can't they just move away? I about died sobbing with the whole Mark dying episode, as it was very much like my father's death. Goodness!

I know what you mean, why can't people just leave the show?

Lucy-That whole thing made me cry so hard, why couldn't she just decide medical school wasn't for her?

Mark-That Hawaii episode still makes me cry.

Dr. Romano-I think I was just in shock.

the helicopter crash was very realistic to me and the irony of the helicopter killing Romano was appropriate. I so enjoyed Paul McCrane as Romano... his character was the guy you loved to hate...... and I have met many a doc with his "God Attitude" LOL
I feel Romano will be missed as he always had some really ascerbic, critical, humorous lines... altho he was not PC.

Mark Greens death had me crying for days.. I don't think ER has ever recovered from the loss of this character and actor.
Lucy's death was traumatic and dramatic.. good series fodder... and to this day makes me cry whenever I watch the episodes.

as for the Africa episodes.. they are EXTREMELY sad... and very political. The writing is good but I wish that ER would stay ER and leave Africa to its own series. jmho

I thought it was an intriguing twist. ER is getting old and needs to keep people guessing.
BTW, what hospital lets the nurses have their kids just hang around in the ER? I didn't see the end of the episode--did she get a little lecture about daycare?

Thursday night's episode of "ER" really hit home with me. It was because of the man who had pulmonary embolism in his lungs. They sent him for the scan and he died from a reaction to the dye they injected into him. The very same thing happened to me in September!!! Well, not the dying part ;) thank God, but the pulmonary embolism in both my lungs. I had 5 days of severe shortness of breath and went through some tests but the doctor's didn't know what was causing it, so finally sent me for the CT scan. I'm glad I didn't know you could have an adverse reaction to the dye before I had the scan!!! Turned out I had severe pulmonary embolism in both my lungs and they admitted me immediately, and started me on the heparin like they were gonna do to that guy. Yikes!!! :faint:

My favorite Paul McCrane role was that gross guy he played on the X-Files--he could re-grow his whole body. The special effects were amazing.

He's a good actor and I hope he turns up somewhere else, but Romano really was an SOB.

I, too, am weary of such sad and hideous dea ths on TV. I've been a Days of Our Lives viewer since I was a kid and now they are killing off almost every character over 40 in the most vile ways possible.

I can watch the news for blood and misery. There is so little on TV that you can escape with these days.

Completely agree with RocknRobin!!!

I get so PO'd at ER when I see Sam's son in the trauma rooms!!!
NEVER HAPPENS in any ER I have been in!

Kind of funny to think that the guy who played Romano is the same guy who played the red-headed gay kid in FAME the movie, huh?

OMG, he was the red headed gay guy in Fame!!!! I think its a compliment to the actor that we all hated/loved the character so much.

To have 2 helicopter instances like that you must have done something pretty bad to a helicopter in a past life!!!

I finally saw Thursdays episode. That nurse's son is really getting on my nerves. At the hospital I work at, security is so tough. Apparently in Chicago, they didn't heighten their security measures. It seems as though anyone can walk through the ER.
