Easter morning and DH and I are talking about - stuff... life in general, worries, upcoming vacations when he announces he is not going to worry so much anymore. Life is short, bills will get paid, but we need to enjoy this one life we have. That is when he told me to book the cruise I had been wanting to take for summer of 2018. I was shocked! So I went to the DCL website, started looking at different options and found an Eastern Caribbean on June 16, 2018. We have done this cruise before but it went to St. Maartin this one goes to Tortola. I loved that cruise and have always said I would like to do it again. Then DH reaches into his wallet, pulls out his credit card, drops it on my desk and tells me "book it before I change my mind". So... I did! I booked for the four of us - DH, myself and our two adult daughters. Not sure daughter #2 will be able to make it. She graduates college next month and has no idea where she will be or what she will be doing then. She is a dancer hoping to get into a company.
This will be our 4th DCL cruise. We are also thinking about a December, 2018 out of Galveston if they become available. That one will be just him and I for our 32 wedding anniversary. Our last DCL cruise was in June of 2013 on the Fantasy. We loved it even though it rained most of the time. I was even able to snag one of the extended veranda rooms at the back of the ship.
I am trying really hard to not get toooo excited because we had a Dream cruise booked for June of 2015 and ended up having to cancel it. DH ended up in the emergency room due to a horrible and rare reaction to Claritin. The horrendous deductible we had due to that ended up costing us that cruise. I am cautiously and optimistically excited for this one.
