So as I am up till 5am sometimes 6am reading everyone's post on here about how their Fiances proposed. Well so I am going to add to the pile because I feel inspired to share my story.
James and I met in the fall of 2007, he was a student at Michigan Tech(Computer Software Engineer), and I a student at Northern Michigan (Music Education and Nursing). If anyone knows anything about our two schools are that we hate each other. Its all about the hockey with these two schools. Lets just say there is always one team that leaves the ice bloody.
I was in the pep band and for some reason there was a group of there jerk off MTU fans, my section and I were getting so mad at them that we started a verbal fight. Well this nerdy kid with glasses kept staring at me and he kept smiling, I thought to myself " Perfect that is all I need, a computer geek from another school to break my heart." So I found him as a perfect person to lay all of my insults on. ( Not a very romantic start I will admit). As I am yelling at this person he looks at me with a smile and gives it right back! WHAT! Nuh uh he did not just say that. During intermission that geek comes up to me and starts talking to me and he says to me " We're gonna be together, I seen how you were looking at me, admit it you want to be with me." I look at him and tell him he has a lot of words for a skinny geek, and he replied " I will find out where your room is, your phone number, and I will come to your room when you least inspect it"
Ok stalker.
Little did I know he had friends in our pep band hince how he got all of my information. Two weeks past and I get this phone call at 1am during the busiest time for a band members semester. It was him calling me from outside of my dorm hall, he couldn't get in he didn't have a key. All I could do was laugh, so I get out of my bed and walk to all of the doors to let him in. We talked and got to know each other, and the rest is history.
He proposed to me a few months later, I guess he wasn't lying when he said we were going to be together. He took me back to where we met the Berry, we sat there and packed brown bag dinners. In the bottom of the bag were the M&Ms and I started to eat them not thinking about what they say and he asked me what the heck was on the one was gonna eat, I freaked out thinking he seen a bug and I threw it out onto the ice. He laughed and took another one out of the bag and showed it to me. He turned in his seat with his speech he wrote and showed me the box. It was my promise ring. . . But i was still wearing my promise ring. I asked him why did he get me this ring and he said to me when he got me my promise ring that he has never seen me so happy, so when he was online one night playing a game he found this ring and said it is in every shape and form looks like of promise ring, and he wanted to see that amazing look on my face again and everyday.
So now we our getting married in 2010, and looking forward to our Disneymoon, we are still up in the air about a disney wedding because of family.
