How did Disney decide to put Valentino in Wish?

I think the character that will take center stage in Disney's Wish will be Valentino and I would like to know why Disney thought of Valentino for Disney's Wish? Is Valentino supposed to bring comic relief to the movie and be like the other Disney characters in the past? Because I think why they made Valentino talk was so that Alan Tudyk could get a speaking role in Disney's Wish. I also cannot figure out why they chose the name Valentino for the goat? Because there was a fashion designer named Valentino and I wonder if they named Valentino after the fashion designer? But I do think Valentino is funny especially when he says his signature phrase "I Am Talking I Am Talking Who Knew My Voice Would Be This Low"
