How did a trip that start out so well end so bad??? Updated 8/17 post 173

I'm so glad you get to go back and am looking forward to reading about your plans.

I think out of everyone in this series of reports, you excluded, I feel the worst for your niece. Poor kid never stood a chance, being raised like that. I can't believe you didn't slap her. But way to go, CM, denying them access even though she threw a fit!

Trip with in-laws disaster. Your daughter priceless. Whatever your doing keeep on doing it. Your son... he's two, normal behavior. As for you SIL hopeless, neice one day someone will set the girl streight and she will learn the hard way. Life does not revolve around her. Thank goodness the CM pointed that out to her with her fit. Good lord the child needs a paddling. I would keep my kids away from grandparents like that, I'm so sorry your kids have to go through that. I hope that your up coming trip will be magical . You get a huge pearl and ride everything you want. Best part, no in laws.

Me too! I try to keep her overnight whenever I can. Guess I hope I will rub off on her. SHe has no problem eating when she's at my house.

Aww...thanks! I needed that. I keep telling myself my kids are better off not being so close to their grandparents. I do feel bad for my DH though. Here's hoping for the huge pearl!!!

As hard as it is for you to see him go through it one day he will have enough of his parents treating his kids that way. It took awhile but mine did.

Seriously...did you feel like you were on candid camera this entire trip!! It was like you were being punked!! Are these people for real??? I purposely did not mention Disney or Free Dining on Facebook, fearing my SIL would try to jump on..she invites herself to do lots of stuff with us. They have some serious financial andl...legal...issues so I would hope they wouldn't try it! Hubby and I agreed that we would only ever be OK going to Disney with our one set of friends and their kids. No one else. My parent are joining us for just a day, maybe 2, so that's fine. Enjoy your FAMILY trip planning for December!!

OMG ... What a saga! But no one was mortally injured, so far all limbs are intact. Can't believe it, but the inlaws are all alive.

But you love Disney. Give yourself a true vacation and take the 7-day cruise.

Although I think you are very nice you let/allowed too many other folks/hoodlums/yahoos go with you. You can NEVER please everyone and your inlaws aren't wired correctly. Also I think you should ALWAYS have a rest/nap time for your son. Your DH, and DD and you probably would enjoyed the rest too. JMO but have been many times and this is the best policy for us.

I am in shock by the ending of your trip. God, I hope that man was ok. What a horrible, traumatic experience. I am so sorry you and your family had to go through that ontop of the horrible trip you had. I am so happy you got that PIN and y'all are making it work for December. It is going to be the best trip of your lives. I know it! Just block this one out of your memory, except for the good parts like DS on Maelstrom. How freaking cute is that!!! I never thought that but that is a great analogy! Sadly (said very sarcastically) nobody has anymore vacation time or timeshare points other than US so nobody will be joining us!!! The first part of the trip with our friends was great. It was the family part that was such a downer. Never again.

You are right..no mortal injuries. Although my son sitll has a little scar from falling getting out of the pool.

We have talked about that but want no diapers when we go on a cruise.

The out laws kind of invited themselves. While I knew we couldn't please them my DH still tried. Poor guy! My son actually did sleep for 2 hour naps. He is just not a patient child. To this day he won't sit still long enough for me to read him a book.

Seriously...how shocking is that? I tried to google to see what happened to that man but couldn't find anything. Seriously...my DS and his one more time peez just makes me laugh. What a fitting last ride. We are so pumped for this trip in December. We are hoping to take it slower than we normally do. I think being from the NE I'm not used to taking things slowly. I'm going to try my hardest though. I am so hoping we can meet up in December. I think our children would have a blast together and we could enjoy an adult beverage. I am working on getting out tea rescheduled to an earlier time so we can run into y'all. When the date gets closer we'll try to work something out.
