I can't swim :confused3 , but would like to stand or walk around in the pool.
How deep are they? Or to be specific, how deep is the pool at POFQ?

None of the pools are deep enough to be considered 'over your head'...well, not as long as you're over 4' 6" or so. If you're an average height adult, you should be able to walk around in the pool at POFQ...have fun!!

I am only 5'2" and we stayed at POFQ in April. I could walk around the entire pool, parts on tip toes, but I could still walk. The depths vary around the pool, but there are definitely parts where you would be fine walking around if you're not comfortable with it a little deeper. Have fun!

There are no diving boards at WDW resort pools, so there's no need for any diving wells in the pools. As such, I think the max depth is around 7 feet.

This is not true. The "lazy river" at SAB is 8 feet deep at one point.

We love POFQ and are staying there again this December. I am 5'3" and usually walk around the pool myself. I had no trouble...there is an area that is slightly deeper and I had to use my toes, but you will be fine. Enjoy this pool; it is fantastic!

SALB at one point is 12' - my niece showed me - anyway that is the only pool at Disney that is more than 5'....

I got told this was done so even a small adult could rescue a child if needed.... of course this was a cm at the pool - so who knows????

I'm 5'5" and the deepest end of the Poly quiet pool was over my head. The other end was much more shallow. The main pool was zero entry but I don't know how deep it got.

I can't recall if the depth was posted or not, but I assume it was in places.

There is a 4 foot short end. You can stand in that. There is also a deep end. That varies in size. If you can't swim, I'd stay in the shorter end.

Have to say that I had never heard about those depths at SAB...wonder why the depth?? Any idea? I'm sure there are a lot of parents who would be interested in knowing that.

As far as the other pools go...I still maintain that they don't go over your head. I'm about 5'8" tall, dd is now 5'5", but that's pretty recent. I have never been close to up to my chin in the pools. However, even where they get deeper, it is very gradual, so you won't be surprised by a big drop off. You shouldn't be in any danger of ending of in too deep water.

The deepest end of the Poly quiet pool is 7', or at least it was last October. I think the shallow end was more like 3'. The volcano pool at the Poly is only about 4' at the deepest point and is a zero-entry pool.

At the GF quiet pool the deepest point was 6' when we last stayed there (2003, I think). I didn't swim in the themed pool.

At the CR, the deepest point in the quiet pool is about 5'. As I recall the deepest point at the themed pool was only about 3' or 4'.

I prefer pools with deeper water (6' or more), but there seems to be fewer of them on property than there used to be.

The pools range from zero to 12 feet, depending on which one. But other than the lazy river at SAB, there isn't a single pool that doesn't have ample space for people to walk around in 3-4 foot deep water.

There is plenty of room at the POFQ pool for you to walk around. I think that the slide empties into an area of the pool that is less than 4 feet. I went down that slide and walked away from it. There is a stronger current near the slide, but it's pretty shallow there. The depth is pretty well marked at the main pool, but at the quiet pools at POR it gets deep fast and without as much warning. Be careful if you use the POR quiet pools.

Have a great time at the pool!
