How deep are splashdown pools at waterparks?

My kids can swim underwater and get to the side of the pool, but I think they would get disoriented if a slide dropped them in eight feet of water like some of the waterparks I've seen. I've tried to find this information, but none of the waterpark descriptions mentions how deep the water is in the splashdown pools for the slides. Does anyone know or know where I can this info?

I think they're about 3ft 6in.

I'm 5' 2'' and it comes up to my chest.:)

They are definately not deep enough to cover your personal parts if you happen to lose your swim suit!!! LOL I know this from personal experience!!! They are indeed about 3 1/2 ft. and there are CM's stationed there at the splash down pool to help your children if they become disoriented. I always like to go down first and be at the bottom when the little one come down. There are also CM's at the top to help send them on their way.

Wow, I've never been to a waterpark where the water was over my head. I don't think that would be very safe.

Thanks, everyone. It sounds like the slides will be no problem.
Emma's Grammy, I read your story to my kids and they loved it. (We were laughing with you, not at you. I can easily see something like that happening to me.)

Kilee, I didn't think waterparks had deep splashdown pools either until one summer when we checked out a waterpark in Wildwood, NJ and there were several splashdown pools with at least eight feet of water, maybe deeper. One of our friends had gone there and became disoriented in the water and couldn't tell which way was up at first. That would not be fun for me.

most of the splash down areas are about 3-4 ft of water at disney water parks...I remember one slide at wet n' wild that drops you down into about 8ft of water...I dont remember the name of the slide, but, imagine being flushed down a toilet and then dropped out the bottom into about 8ft of water...can be very disorienting...

I think slides where you are dropped a distance above the water tend to have deeper ending pools. They have them in waterparks around here, but i can't think of any at Disney. I don't know the depth, but the pool in the BB ski patrol area, where they slide along the clothesline-like thing and drop into the water, may be deeper. We saw lifeguards jumping in there several times to help kids get out.
