DH & I are thinking about taking a last minute trip to DL this Friday with DD4 & DD2.

I know it's Memorial Weekend, but our AP's aren't blocked out. How crowded do you think it will be? We'd hate to go if it's super crowded. Any insight on the crowds would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!

This is just a guess, but fairly crowded. I know AP's aren't blocked for Friday, but ours are for Sat, Sun, and Mon. I figure if DL thinks it will be crowded enough to block AP's on the Sunday and Monday (usually ok), that Friday will be pretty busy too. We went the Friday before Easter because the AP's weren't blocked. The crowds were big - much bigger than a normal Friday night. Our philosophy was that it didn't matter. We just avoided attractions with long lines (i.e. fantasyland) and put those on our list for next visit. Because it was a busier day, ELP was running in DCA and we loved seeing that!

Opening day for Pirates Lairs at Tom Sawyer Island (PLATSI) is May 25. I would expect bigger crowds than a normal Friday in May.

I anticipate large crowds this weekend... My AP is blocked only Sat and Sun- but DH hates going with crowds- I plan on going for just the day tomorrow (Thursday), hoping it won't be too bad, especially since I can't get there in the parks much earlier than 11am.

I haven't been over Memorial Day weekend since our honeymoon in 1999. But we were there the Thursday and Friday. Thursday had light crowds, and we rode every ride we wanted. Friday was VERY busy!! We hardly rode any rides that day, but just enjoyed the atmosphere (and the Mulan parade!).

We just celebrated our Anniversary on Tuesday, and we got our DL honeymoon pictures out to reminisce!

I won't be a lot of help as we only went to California Adventure, but did go last year the Friday of Memorial weekend, and it was delightful. Longest wait in line was for the River ride thing...20 minutes. Disneyland looked insane by the throngs entering, but CA was pretty empty until around 3 when the Disneyland crowd started shooting over.
Thinking of going myself!!! Have fun.
