Hi,
I just realized that we will be there the exact same days as the Football & Cheerleading competition.

How will this affect crowds? Anyone been during this event before?

We usually go in January, and there is no one there, so, I am a little worried.

TIA

Judging from your list of resorts you stayed in the past, I'm guessing you will not be at one of the All Stars. From what I've read on these boards, unless you are staying at the All Stars you won't even know they are there. Overflow will be at POR. I'll be there during Pop Warner time as well and had originally planned to stay at ASMo, but switched to Pop.

We didn't notice them too much in the parks....until we heard the cheers:bitelip: . Crowd-wise, though, it was fine.

Note: We avoid EMH days. I don't know if that made a difference or not, but we walked on almost everything:teleport: !

We have been Pop Warner week as well as early January and you will find more people Pop Week but not really that many are
pop kids, it's just busier. We have had no trouble from the kids, found all to be well behaved and polite. The only thing we noticed were HUGE lines for the bus to the all stars. I would not want to stay there!! We were at WL this past year during pop week and never saw any of the kids there. Enjoy this wonderful week.

We've also been there a few times when they were there, and we didn't notice it at all!!! And we were staying at All Star Movies! We've stayed once in Love Bug and twice in 101 Dalmations - and we never heard our neighbors!!! The food court was crowded in the morning, but I find it a little crowded most mornings.

On one of our trips, we did have a small "problem" in Epcot, but it was not with the Pop Warner kids, it was with a school group. My DD loves to make her mask every trip. As we were walking around to the different countries, there were groups of kids that would come running and pushing to get the CMs to stamp their paper from school to show that they did visit that country. They were really very rude to the small children that were already in line for their mask and even those that were decorating their mask. They did have chaperones with them, but the chaperones did not say anything to the kids.

This year, we're staying at Pop Century!!! We are really looking forward to this trip!!! Maybe we'll see ya there!!!

I feel better now.

Cant wait to get there.

:sunny: I have been there when the cheerleaders were there. We didn't notice them in the parks, the clue was the hair up. My DD is a cheerleader for her High school so we know how they do there hair the night before competition. Have fun and enjoy.

We leave this weekend for Florida and get back on 12/5. This Saturday prior to leaving our cheerleaders are in the Regional Competition. The winners of this competition go to Florida. If we win, I have to turn around and come back down to Florida for the championships. We had one squad in Florida last year and they also do alot of other things during the week. They don't get to spend the entire week in the parks. I don't think you'll have too much problems as long as you aren't staying at the All Stars.

cheerleaders two years ago and were lucky not have been staying where they were (they were at an All-Star and we did AKL). You only noticed them at the parks when you saw their "herd" move toward you. It was usually a group of 15-25 and they were usually very loud and not very considerate of others around them. They pushed in front of small kids and did some major line breaking....and that was from the adults in their group! Honestly, the kids were better than the parents.

My advice, if you see them moving toward you...run!!!!

Have a great time!!!

What are the exact dates for this year? Thanks!

We were there 2 yrs ago & many were staying at POR with us. The Pop Warner boys were very well behaved & their coaches really kept a tight hold on them. The cheerleaders were another story. Very loud, obnoxious and totally took over the food area, pool etc. I would never stay at a resort they were going to be at again. There were quite a few people complaining according to the front desk but not much they could do about it. I think the coaches or parents just were letting them do what they wanted. The up side was that we didn't see them at the parks much and they were the source of many jokes for week we were there.
