How crowded is Veteran's Day weekend?

Who has been to Disneyland during Veteran's Day weekend? What are the crowds like? We will be there from Thurs, Nov. 8th through Sunday, Nov. 11th, not exactly on the holiday, but that weekend. So can anyone give me a heads-up as to what to expect? Also what was the weather like? Thanks!

Last year it was really crowded - but I think that's because the Believe fireworks and Holiday "it's a small world" started that weekend. This year the fireworks start the following weekend, though "it's a small world" is still supposed to open on November 9. I'd think it would be more of a normal weekend crowd, though Monday will probably be busy since it's a holiday for a lot of people. I don't think Thursday will be busy, and Friday probably won't be busy until the evening, but I think Saturday and Sunday will be normal weekend busy.

Last year it was pretty warm during the day - low 80s, I think - but cool (50s) at night. Bring shorts and long pants, and then you'll be prepared either way.

That's what I'm prayin' for...just a regular weekend crowd.

But...I sure hope the temp isn't even close to the 80 degree mark. :sad2:

This Washingtonian likes it right around a sunny 72. :cool2:

I think it will still be crazy weekend wise. Very crowded since it's a holiday weekend for most people they will decide to hit up the parks not just on the holiday but the whole weekend. I see pictures from that weekend in the past and it terrifies me but maybe it's not that bad once you are actually in the parks.

We were there last year as well and they filmed the Christmas parade on Saturday so we stayed well away from DL on that day. We did DCA that day. There were a lot of camera booms and such around the parks and I can tell you right now that they had big signs saying disneyland is full to capacity so be aware! We are passholders so we were still able to leave for midday breaks and come back later and get in but just know that there is always the possibility if you leave you "may" not be able to get back in.

We know how to use the system (fastpass) and still were able to have a good time and do everything we wanted to do but it WAS very crowded.

Good luck!

I don't understand this comment - I didn't think being a passholder made any difference in whether or not they would let you in the park - if it's full, it's full, and I didn't think they let anyone in in that situation - I think it has to do with capacity and fire marshal rules.

Because there are different levels of "full". There is completely full as in fire marshall full where they don't let ANYONE back in and then there is full where they don't let anyone NEW back in. IE anyone who hasn't already been in the park yet. So if you are a passholder or someone who is a hotel guest etc. This is what I was told. Sometimes just single day ticket holders etc are given the lowest priority and then people who have already been in the park and then hotel guests and passholders etc. It depends on HOW full it is. There are different levels of capacity. When they say the park is full it can be full to where they won't let any NEW people in or full to where they won't let ANYONE in until people that are already there leave. Does that make sense?

Thanks for your replies, guys. I will hope for the best, but expect the worst. Next time, I will plan around any holiday weekend.

We were there last year on VDW. It was packed. There were signs everywhere saying that DL was at capacity. We walked over anyways (think it was our first day) and got our tix and they let us in. But it was a jungle. Wall to wall people and line rides were pretty lengthy. Still had a good time, but alot more fun 2 days later when crowds died down again.

Me too.

We won't get into the park until noon on Nov. 10th. :sad1:

The main reason we are going to DL at all on Saturday is to watch the Remember Fireworks. Anything else we get to do will be icing on the cake. :cool1:

However....I have hope for those of us who erred when planning our visit to DL over Veteran's Day Weekend. :rolleyes1

I purchased Ridemax and so far the itinerary, even starting at noon, isn't bad at all. :)

I know that Ridemax isn't perfect, but surely they know that this weekend is a holiday. :confused3

Maybe it won't be as bad as we think. :grouphug:

I'm right there hoping with you. My trip is Nov. 7-11 for my birthday, and I just realized a few days ago that it was Veterans Day weekend. We must keep our fingers crossed!
