How crowded is Spectro & Wishes the Sat after Thanksgiving?

We arrive that day, and we were thinking of taking our DDs to see the parade after dinner. That way, its our 1st night they see it, maybe sit for a parade without expecting the rides yet. Anyway, has anyone been the Sat after Thanksgiving? Is it extra crowded that night? Our plan would be to only do those 2 things, so just need to get a spot to sit, and not really concerned with ride wait times, etc. Thanks!

The MK is VERY crowded on Thursday, Thanksgiving, but I am unsure about the Friday after. Starting Sunday after Thanksgiving the crowds go down dramatically. Good luck.

I don't know about the MK, but Epcot was EXTREMELY crowded the Saturday after Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. We arrived on Friday afternoon, but didn't want to use a day's ticket to go to the parks. We went to DTD to shop & eat dinner. The wait at Rainforest Cafe was 2 hours, 45 minutes!!! Every store was slammed. I thought, "It'll be better tomorrow." We went to Epcot, instead of the MK to try to avoid the weekend crowds. It wasn't unbearable, but there was a lot we didn't get to do. By Sunday, when we went to MK, the crowds were significantly lower. By Monday, they were gone. It was great!

So, even if it is packed, just enjoy yourself and know that it will get better as the week progresses.

Have fun!

:scared1: Very Bad!!! Avoid if at all possible, if not get there very early and stake out your spot for the parade and just sit tight. But be prepared to be smooshed, jostled and possibly peed on (yes, that actually happened to us). I would maybe wait and see it during the week, when it won't be quite so bad.

We are arriving for Thanksgiving & staying for the whole week after. Does Spectro run more than once a week in the off season? There are 3 MVMCParties during that week so Spectro doesn't run those nights. I'm thinking it only goes on Saturday nights.

Getting jostled and peed on? I guess we're bringing ponchos and bubblewrap.

All of WDW is packed the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. On Sunday though, the parks clear out. It's amazing how crowded the parks can be one day and empty the next. :cool1:

We'll be in that crowd Saturday night after Thanksgiving, I think. Yes, I'm scared.

:wave2: Hey, the Saturday after Thanksgiving will be our first day at WDW for my birthday trip!!

We might not go into a park that day though.

Spectro usually runs once during the week in December, usually Monday.

Ok. Just checked this out. There is a MVMCParty Sunday 11/27, Tuesday, 11/29, Thurs 12/01, Friday 12/02. So I hope that there will be a Spectro on Monday or Wednesday?

I was planning to do the Osborne lights @ MGM on Monday & the CP @ Epcot on Wednesday. GRRR. Now I must go rearrange everything to keep those nights open until the schedule comes out. :confused3

Spectro usually runs Mondays in December. I'm hoping Wednesday will be EMH at MK.

Thanks, beattyfamily. I'm penciling in Monday, 11/28 as a Spectro/Wishes night. Fingers crossed! Thanks for the info.

Glad I found this thread. Sounds like Saturday will be our Kennedy Space Center day! Of course the following week especially 11/29 & 30th DW & I will be celebrating our birthdays! Of course the 29th is the better day (my B-day). What do you think Beattyfamily? :teeth:

;) Hey, fellow birthday celebrator!! I'll be at MK on Nov 29 for my 40th!! I'll be wearing a birthday shirt and pin!

Will you be at MK on Nov 29 too??

Who knows where we'll be the 29th?! However, if you see at 40ish guy with his family and smiling from (mouse)ear to ear at the MK say hello! I keep threatening DW that DD7 & I are going to wear matching Mickey Ears. This may be the year!

Last Twice I've been there around Thanksgiving, it seems to get VERY busy on the weekends, compared to through the week.

I fly in on the thursday, may goto the park on Friday, but am def skipping the weekend.

See You all There :)

:wave2: Maybe we'll see you around then! I'm not 100% sure what we're doing in the AM now that the CP narrator's were announced, I'm in the middle of moving thing all around to see Haley Joel Osment rather then Phil Donahue so my schedule's all mixed up now!!

We'll be at LTT 5:30p though!

Hi, We are also going to be there Sat. after Thanksgiving, hoping to do the spectro parade. We are going to MVMCP on Sunday night. Do you think the crowds will be heavy for that?

3 yrs ago we stayed at WL the week after Thanksgiving. I don't remember which MVMCP evening it was, but the crowds coming from FW and WL were so large the big riverboat was used instead of the regular boats!

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Spectro/Wishes was on Mon., Wed., and Sat., after Thanksgiving(according to a schedule I found from last year).
We're planning on watching Spectro the Wed. and possibly the next Sat.(Dec. 3rd) I'm so excited. This is my 2nd trip ever to WDW. First trip was around 20 years ago. This is my first during the holidays.
