How crowded is dining?

This is one of my biggest concerns about our trip. How crowded are the counter service restaurants in the parks and resorts? Do you feel that you can adequately maintain social distancing from other parties? What about sit down restaurants? Thanks for any feedback from those who have been to Disney since reopening!

We just got back from our trip 7/10-7/17. We ate at Jungle Skipper Canteen, Terralina Crafted Italian, Morimoto Asia, Boathouse, Tiffins, Homecomin, 50s Primetime Cafe and take out from Sana’a. We did mobile order from Ronto Roasters.

We felt comfortable at all of them. Though at Homcomin and Boathouse, they just had the tables spaced apart with no empty tables. All the others had spacing and purposely empty tables. Looking back, we did feel more comfortable with those empty tables.

People were pretty good with masks and social distancing while waiting for the table and food.

Just curious if you needed reservations? We're headed down July 29-Aug 2 (just made the reservations) and are wondering if the restaurants are ok to just walk in when you feel like it or if we need to set reservations.

We had reservations for all of them. From what I could tell, you definitely needed them since they were at reduced capacity.

If you're concerned about distancing, I'd recommend booking early TS breakfasts. We're local and have eaten breakfast at 3 different TS in the last 3 weeks with 7:30am reservations. In each case we were the only guests in the restaurant for the first 15-30 minutes, and when other guests arrived they were seated quite a way from us, except at Olivia's, where they were still 2 tables away. At no time did we feel uncomfortable about distancing.

We know they aren't doing any crowding so that's not an issue for us. We were just hoping to "wing it" this trip and eat wherever and whenever we decided to on the day of. I went ahead and made a few reservations and will feel out if we should keep them or if we can just go with the flow on the day of.

Once we tried that at MK and every restaurant was booked solid and we had to change plans for dinner. I am hoping with the lower attendance this time it may not be an issue.
