How crowded is Columbus Day weekend usually???

It’s BAD it usually the weekend before/during/after my birthday and in the past few years it’s become some of the worst crowds I’ve dealt with

We currently have a trip planned for 5 nights starting Oct. 8th. Columbus Day is the 12th. If Disney had not been closed (a normal Columbus Day) is that weekend a busy one typically like other 3 day weekends? It is also Food and Wine. Thanks for any tips/advice.

We went to MK for one day the Sunday of that weekend. It was one of the few days without the Halloween party and we drove over from the beach. It was really crowded. That being said, we still did a lot. One of the worst parts were the lines for food and drinks. We got a reservation for lunch at BOG and all I can say is thank goodness for mobile ordering. But if you go with the right attitude it’s a good time.

Went Oct 2018, and it was really really busy, and hot!. Several states have week long fall breaks the first or second week of October. It felt like half of Tennessee and Kentucky were there when we went.

We had fun, but if you're looking for lower crowds that ain't the time to go.

What a difference a week or two makes. We went the week afterwards that same year (arrived on 10/20/18) and the weather was gorgeous. The only crowds we saw were at MK on a non party day, but we went at rope drop and then dipped to the Grand Floridian for a spa day. We walked back to the Poly and napped and only went back to MK for the HEA dessert party, which was worth every penny that night.

Lots of schools have Fall Break this week, so it can be really busy.

We went a few years ago over Columbus weekend and it was busy, not terrible but much more crowded than I thought it would've been. But I loved the fall decor!

We just moved our May trip to 10/13-10/18 -- oddly that's one of the few sets of dates I could get AKL standard view and cheap flights on SW. With everything going on who knows how the crowds will be in the fall- I'm just playing it by ear at this point and will switch dates if I can get a PIN offer or free dining....
