This will be our first trip during December :santa: , are the parks crowded during this time of year? We will be there for six nights with a 5 day park pass/no hopping, and want to see everything :)

Thanks a bunch :thumbsup2

there is not a better time to go.. we have only gone during this time and we LOVE IT. We are going the first week of Feb to see how it is in 08. Have a great time....

You literally picked the best week of the ENTIRE year to go!

This is the week we always go...let me tell you what we have experienced...NO lines (no, not even at space mountain or other big headliners)...walking right up to characters that are "mobbed" by oh, about four other kids...lovely, cool weather...the ability to sit down and have a quiet lunch without lines or table crowding...I could go on and on, but you get my point.

You will have a fabulous time, and I bet you'll NEVER go back any other time of year.

(One drawback--too cool to swim; but we just do the parks, so that isn't a big deal to us--we can swim all summer long!)

I'll be there Dec 8th-16th (same week I've gone the last three years). POP Warner will be there the first week of Dec, but should be leaving by the 9th (their competitions end Dec 8th). However, as long as you're not staying at one of the All Stars or Port Orleans you probably won't even notice them. I believe they will have their party at MGM on Dec 5th though, so you might want to avoid MGM that evening. Otherwise that week is great. Crowds are fairly low. Weather is unpredictable though. We went the first week of January '05 and wore shorts all week. We went back the second week of Dec '05 and almost froze. (I'm talking heavy coats, toboggans, scarf, fleece sweatshirts, and still freezing cold, cold) I went back last year the second week of Dec ('06) and again wore shorts all week. You just never know! Check accuweather.com before you go and bring a little of everything to wear (shorts, jeans, fleece, etc). The decorations are beautiful by the way, so take some time to visit some resorts and look around. Snow on mainstreet and at the Osbourne lights is neat too. Have fun! I may run into you guys down there! I usually go early May for the Flower Festival, Sept for the very low crowds, and Dec for the Christmas stuff. December is my favorite time of year down there.

We were there during the same time period two years ago and it was fine. You may notice the Pop / cheerleader groups at the parks but lines were rarely an issue and the weather was quite nice.

We are heading down from 11/10 to 11/17 this year and hope for the same kind of weather / crowd results.

I will be there Dec. 6 - 9. It seems that the consensus is that this will be a great week to go crowd wise. My only worry is that when I go online to check reservations (I was looking to modify my ressie to a different resort) there are absolutely no rooms available. none!! I also called the reservation line and they said they don't show anything available for that weekend. What is everyone's take? Do you think it will be crowded or is there a glitch somewhere with reservations?

We will be there also from the Dec 8-16. We have been twice before at this time and love it. Everyone is right about bringing a variety of cloths. We were there one time walking around epcot wearing heavy coats and flip flops ( we WERE in florida was our theory) and froze. Have a great time....hope to see you there. Terri

I noticed this too. I've been playing around with our reservations (because I'm crazy like that) so I saw lots of room types available at GF, BWI and AKL right up to the time the latest room code was released. For your dates, it might also be booked because of Pop Warner.
My guess would be that the hotel is full because of the discounts, but the parks should still be empty :confused3

We'll be there the 9th-14th! Just booked a great deal yeasterday. Glad to hear about the crowds. Thanks to the OP for this thread!

From Dec. 7-14. We have gone at this time since '93 due to my DD's birthday.
It's wonderful and all that has already been stated. We'll probably wait to go
to the parks until Monday so those cheerleaders won't get us! :thumbsup2

Happy Holidays everybody and see you in the World! :cloud9:

we will be there the week of 7-13 at riverside =( should I change hotels re cheerleaders?? Honestly I've seen the cheercamps while in california and theyre a mob scene all over hotel property practicing at all hours. I picked riverside because it looks quiet and beautifull but now Im wondering if I should change my reservation. Any advice??

From what I've read, most of the kids stay at Sports, and most have said it doesn't really have a great affect on park crowds.

My grandmother, my husband and myself will be there from Dec 6-9 as well. This will be the first Holiday trip for my Grandmother. I am so excited for her to see it all. I was also playing with the system to see if I could get a second room at AKL for my grandmother since I have a room at the AKV's and they came up completely booked. No biggie our room will be big enough for 3. :) I am ready to get there, and I am very glad to here that the crowds will not be bad at that time. I went last year on Christmas eve and it was a mad house. I know we picked a really bad time last year.:guilty: I am ready to go and I am not even worried about the crowds. We will work around whatever is there and will have a great time.

We go exclusively during the 2nd week of December because Pop Warner has just left and it's still Value Season.:cool1: 2 great reasons to go, not to mention the breathtaking views of the decorations everywhere you look. The crowds are very manageable and even though they make look big, ride wait time is usually 5 to 10 minutes tops. Some of the bigger rides Soarin', EE, Space Mountain, Mission Space, etc. are good for FP as you can then enjoy the other rides in the park waiting for your FP time to arrive.

we are going the 4th to the 9th. I am hoping Pop Cheerleaders will not affect us to much. Staying at CSR thought I keep checking WL for cancellations. But CSR does look beautiful at Christmas. We went last year DEC 7 to 14th and it was pretty awesome.

I guess Im basing my concern on my experience with the cheer crowd in california. The cheerleaders where spread out all over hotel property practacing. I guess when I imagined walking through por I didnt picture it in my head with teenagers everywhere shouting. I've called to try to change res and they said nothing available. Im crossing my fingers. We are going as group of adults and were really looking foward to hotel being more downtime then dt disney.

We will be there from the 8th to the 16th!:goodvibes We where there last time about the same time and it was great!

So I spoke with disney reservations today and was assuered that pop warner would not be at por even so much so that if they are they said to speak to cm lol. Somehow I dont think they can assure me that they wont be at por but we'll see.
