How crowded are water parks 7/3 and 7/4?

We’re visiting the week of 7/4. We’re planning to generally avoid the parks (at least MK) 7/3 and 7/4 to escape biggest crowds and enjoy our resort. We’re staying at the Poly and can watch fireworks from there.

I’m considering doing a water park one of those days. Anyone know what we should expect in terms of crowds? Maybe a lot of people have the same idea and they’re just as crowded as the other parks!

The water parks are never as crowded as the 4 main parks, regardless of the day. Even during 4th of July, it'll be a typical water park crowd. Very light for the first hour, then it builds quickly and peaks early to mid afternoon. It'll then decline pretty quickly late afternoon. I can't say I've been in a water park on a July 4th evening specifically, only daytime, but I'd bet it follows the same pattern.

Every person has a different opinion on "crowds." However, here is my experience when I have visited on the 3rd and the 4th of July. I always go to the MK on the 3rd and EPCOT on the 4th. I find MK to be on the lighter side until about mid-afternoon when the locals begin to file in for the fireworks. Maybe 4 or 5 p.m.

EPCOT on the 4th isn't that bad until the evening. EPCOT really absorbs the crowds well, and it probably doesn't feel to get "crowded" until about 6 p.m. when the locals come in for the fireworks.

In my opinion, EPCOT has the best 4th of July fireworks finale, but the 360-degree fireworks finale that the MK does is great as well.
