Have the crowds thinned out yet? Mainly for the MK. I haven't gone near there in several weeks and I'm thinking of making a try this week.

It has basically been thined out since Jan 1st. Thats when the majority of the crowds left.

It'll be pretty slow until Presidents week, then it will be slow again until the 1st - 2nd week in March.

We went to magic kingdom for a few hours yesterday. We waited 20 minutes for Small world, Peter Pan wait was 50 minutes, Space mountain was 50 min buy they were lined up past the fast pass distribution---so I think that might not have been accurate, haunted mansion was 30 minutes. All the table service restaurants were filled and their was a sign at Guest services telling guests and suggesting their counter service restaurants as alternatives.

I am waiting until next week to go to the MK. The holiday tourist crowds may be gone, but most of the schools in Central FL don't return to session until next week, so there will be alot of locals filling the parks. I went last yr on Jan. 5, expecting the crowds to be gone and the park was very busy. So I am going next week when the tourists are gone (for the most part) and the local schools are back in session.

Just got back from MK and it's still crowded. Peter Pan was 50 min, Small World, 30 min, Pirates was 20 as well.
I did see quite a few tourist groups walking around.
My kids are back in school and the rest go back Thursday (locally)

Last night at Epcot there was a 100 minute wait for Soarin' at about 6PM. At 9:30 AM, the wait was already about 50 minutes.

At Disney Studios, there was a 40 minute wait for RnRC at 10AM and 35 min wait for ToT at the same time. Beauty and the Beast was packed at 11AM.

Crowds are still greater than they were two years ago about the same time. I think some schools still have winter break.

touringplans.com estimated today's crowds at a "6", is this site fairly accurate ?? it sounds to me like that's wrong since the waits are pretty long :confused3

I think a "6" means that at peak times, the wait times for an E ride will be about 60 minutes. Sounds like touringplans is right on the money :)

I guess I thought that a 6 would mean close to half empty :rotfl2:

We were at AK yesterday for a couple hours and it was packed. I was really surprised, there was a 30 minutes wait for the Dino rollercoaster at 4pm.

This IS still the week of the New Years holiday and people still on vacation so yes, the parks are crowded.

The parks were crowded Jan 2-4 compared with when I was there first week of Dec.

It did not help today that Buzz was closed, country bears closed to switch back, and Splash broke down (I was in the ride when it happened..got a free "backstage" tour..LOL

I did notice that compared to recent visits , Space Mountain was mobbed. I wonder if people think that they redid the WDW one. (At 3am on Dec 30th, it had a 30 minute wait, every other ride in the park was a walk on.)
