How crazy is Nights of Joy?

I was going to avoid these nights on our Sept. trip since they are a "hard" ticket item but when I saw that Jump 5 was performing I started to rethink this. My kids love Jump 5 but what I am concerned with is that I will be paying about $150 for the 5 of us with no reserved seating. Will this be a mob scene where my kids may not even get to see this group? I also do not want to pay this price only to have to sit and save a spot the entire night.

Anyone ever been to NOJ that can give me some guidance?

I haven't been to a night of Joy. I went in September of 2002, and avoided them and the Magic Kingdom on the days that they had the concerts.

I can tell you that I saw no seating. Picture Woodstock. There were simply stages erected - no seats. So if your kids are short, unless they're right up front, I'd think they'd get to hear Jump 5, but not necessarily see them.

I'm sure someone with more definitive answers will come along. :)

Night of Joy is usually sold out, and I believe they sell about 20,000 tickets for it. As Snacky said, there is no seating for most of the concerts (with the exception of bands playing at the Galaxy Palace theater or Cosmic Rays).

Our experience was that you could usually get pretty darn close to the stage except for the Castle forecourt stage when the headliners were playing. Most bands play two or occasionally even three sets, so you have a pretty good chance of seeing everyone. I'm not so sure I'd go just to see one band however - it's awfully crowded throughout the whole park.

All of the rides are open for NOJ, but because the event attacts so many church youth groups the lines are usually extremely long.
