How crazy busy will the crowds be March 16-19?

DH and I found a great airfare for a long weekend and are considering a quick trip to Universal sans kids! But will it be too busy with Spring break crowds to enjoy ourselves? We always do Disney and this would be our first trip to Universal. Would staying onsite for the unlimited fastpass help make it manageable? Sorry I didn't search to find the answers just need a quick response so I don't lose the cheap flight! TIA!

Before you get your plane tickets, be sure and check availability at Royal Pacific, Hard Rock or Portofino Bay. I would most definitely want to have Express Pass for spring break crowds.

I would go. Yes, it will be a more busy on weekend during Spring break. They are still having the Mardi Gras parade every evening at Universal Studios until April 7 th. The floats are beautiful and the beads area plentiful.

Yes, staying on site at one of the deluxe Resorts Royal Pacific, Hard Rock or Portofino Bay will get you Unlimited Express. This will make it more manageable for sure.

Go have a great time. You will love it.

Thanks I think we are going to stay at Royal Pacific Both of the resorts are available is Portofino better or is it just personal preference Royal Pacific was a little less expensive

They are both lovely. There are sticky’s to look at on both Resorts under the Universal Orlando Resorts and Hotels.
Have a look and that might help you decide which to choose from.

All the regulars have a Resort they like to stay at. I like Portofino, but I have stayed at Royal Pacific also and they are both beautiful and the staff are fantastic at both Resorts.

Not bad. We took this photo the same time last year. Do you have shoulder pads?

JK :)

ok seriously reconsidering!
I am completely kidding, as evidenced by the small "JK" at the bottom of my post! I'm sure that the crowds at Spring Break aren't anything near that photo- which may have coincided with the opening of HP area at Universal. If they had crowds like that I too would never go!

@Koz Seeing as I'm also going 15th-19th I almost did a spit-take when I saw your photo. But then I remembered I was there same time last year and remember it being relatively crowd-free and a lot warmer than that photo would suggest.

Looks like predicted crows size for Friday and Saturday is 8/10, while Sunday is just a 5/10.
