How cramped are the value studio villas at AKL?

I was able to extend our upcoming trip by a day by switching out the BWV portion of our split stay and extending our stay at an AKL value studio; I now have a reservation for a value studio for 10 days and a three day reservation to end the trip at BLT. This is a graduation trip for my daughter, she told me that she would prefer to stay as long as possible, since I don't have an infinite number of points this was the only way I could extend the trip. My daughter is pleased with this plan, but I am concerned we might be a bit cramped. Staying in the room will be myself and three 18 year old girls, who I am assuming (hoping) will be out of the room most of the time. Luggage storage will not be an issue as we will be bringing carry on luggage only, with plans to do laundry at the resort. Has anybody had longish stays in the value studios? any observations would be appreciated,
Thanks

The value studios are 3 feet shorter than the standard rooms are AKL-Jambo. The bed and fold out couch are switched around, the bed is closer to the sliding glass door. DW & I plus some family members switching in and out different groups have stayed in the value rooms for 5 nights without issues.
You do know that you can not request a room/view/location with the value rooms? You get whatever is assigned on your check in day.

Do not know rooms you have experienced but values are about 315 sg ft, in the same range as Port Orleans rooms but about 50 sq ft larger than All-Stars rooms, while most DVC studios are in the 360 sq ft range and above (except BLT is 340)

A lot of it is space use. You will feel cramped in BLT. That one just feels cramped with 4.

i wouldn't stay in a BLT studio or AKV value studio with 4 adults, but some people could probably make it work.

(part of the cramped-ness in a value studio is where to put the sofa pillows, IIRC.)

It may feel a bit cramped with all 4 of you in the room for an extended period of time -- but if the girls won't be spending that much time in the room, you'll be fine. I think it's worth it for the longer stay! :)

Can't you put the sofa pillows under the bed? There was plenty of room for my DH and I to put our suitcases under there a couple of weeks ago.

DH and I stay in the value studios all the time to conserve points. The bathroom is nice with two sinks to make getting ready easier. The size of the room is fine and honestly I would sleep in a cardboard box to go to Disney. The toilet and tub are together in their own little closet. There is not much storage space but usually dh and I place our extra stuff on top of the armoire or by the adjoining door. The fridge is sometimes off when you get there so be sure to check it and turn it on. We usually get a pool view when staying value and once or twice we have scored a savanna view. I think it is 40% pool, 40% savannah and 20% parking lot. We have stayed 9 nights or 10 days several times and it works out fine.

Thank you all for the advice and encouragement, I will keep this booking (now 12 nights) so that we can have extra time at Disney.

I forgot that there is a fairly large alcove where the studio connects to the 1 BR. We used that to store our shoes and other things. I guess the dedicated values don't have that spot though, huh?

I do not beleive there are any dedicated values? At least I don't think there are....

We have stacked those sofa cushions or pillows up on top of the armoire, between the sofa bed and the wall; anything to get them out of the way. It will be cozy with four people for sure. It will help if you luck into a balcony room....or maybe they all have balconies. We did both times staying in a value studio at AKL.

3 teenage girls in the morning.:crazy2:

I would be getting out in the morning before they get moving. You say where to? I say anywhere! :rotfl2:
