how could i do this?

we are thinking about 15 days at AK or 7 days at VWL and 8 at AK.

the easy part of this is if we split the 2 weeks between 2 resorts BUT if we can't book WL at the 7 month mark we'll stay at AK for the full 15 days.

here's the thing - we were talking about doing the DP and doing the basic one for the first 7 nights and the deluxe for the next 8 nights to save a little money.

if we can't get WL at the 7 month mark we will already have our 15 days booked at the 11 month mark for AK.

so - i know you have to link all your day to day reservations to make sure you get the same room and don't have to move but what if we want to split the dining plan?

do we link the first 7 together then the 8 together then if we can't get WL at the 7 month mark do we call and link the whole thing together so we keep the same room? and if we want link them how do we keep the different dining plans?

i know we have until the day before we arrive to add the dining plans but how would we do it?

is that confusing????

I was told that if you link reservations (your 1st 7 with the last 8 days) then you have to get the dining plan all or nothing for the 15 days. If you want to just get it for 7 days, I believe that you have to have two separate unlinked reservations, which may mean that you have to move rooms. In the past they have automatically linked my reservations, so you may have to specifically state that you don't want them linked. I'm not even sure that you can do that though, I seem to remember someone else posting some difficulty trying to do what you want to do.

Shouldn't be too hard if you call right at the 7 month mark. January is one of the easier months to book at 7 months. The only "problems" you may have would be around the following times:

Most American schools will be back in session (from the Christmas/New Year's Holiday) on Monday, January 5, 2009. (So 1/1-1/3 could be more difficult).

Believe marathon weekend will be January 10 &11. That time fills fairly quickly at the 7 month mark - especially for the EPCOT resorts. VWL won't be quite as much of a problem though.

Martin Luther King Day (Holiday) will fall on January 19. Sometimes the weekend before is a problem.

But again, if you call right at 7 months, you should be fine.

I would just wait to add the dining plan.

Book your 15 night ressie at AKL....don't add dining.
At 7 month mark if you get WL....just add dining ....whichever one you
want....there will be 2 ressies for 2 resorts.

If you waitlist....you can still add the DDP till last minute....
ie....30 days when waitlist stops.

In my experience if you change things.....they get confused....ie...screwups..
try to keep it simple.
