How comfy or "uncomfy" are the fold out sofas at OKW?

Crossing fingers that you all say "oooh they're Heavenly!" ;)

I have slept on some real bad fold outs before and woken up with a steel bar pushing in my back. Hoping this won't be the case for us next week. We have a 1-bedroom and the kids will have the KING size bed (please tell me it IS a king) and we have the Queen sofa/bed (please tell me it IS a queen).

Thanks for the info in advance! :flower:

Oooops - also meant to ask if there are DVD players for sure in every 1-bedroom villa? Would hate to "not" bring DVDs if there is one. thanks.

YOU GAVE THE KING BED TO THE KIDS?!!! Gee, thanks, Mom! ;) You might want to rethink your generosity :) But to answer your question, there is a king bed in the WONDERFUL master bedroom, and a queen pull-out couch. There is also a love seat that does not pull out. They are pretty good for kids, but not nearly as nice as the king bed. :teeth:

I think there are DVD's in all the villas at OKW, except studios. At least, there was a DVC player in our grand villa this summer. :teeth:

Since there's 3 of them and only 2 of us... figured we'd let them have the King bed. But since it might just be two of them going after all.... guess what! We'll be in the King room - not them!

Actually, you're info on the loveseat may change things for us. 2 kids on the pull out sofa... one little one (2 year-old) on the love seat and us parents on the King. Hmmm that just might work!

That is definitly the way I would do it! When the queen sofa bed is pulled out, it provides protection for the love seat, so it would be perfect for the 2 year old. You can also put the cushions on the floor for a great little bed, or put the 2 year old in the Pac N Play.

The old pullouts were the bar in the back type, but the new ones are like a foam fold out mattress, and are very comfy.

::yes::
DD slept on one this spring and said it was very comhy.

Do all OKW rooms have the new sofa beds? The last time we stayed at OKW was May '04 and the sofabed was one of the old, uncomfortable ones. My best friend slept on it for 1 night and that's all she could take. She spent the rest of the week sharing a bed with my DD. This time, DS will have to share a bed with DD since he's too big for the Pack N Play, so my friend is going to end up on the sofabed again. I hope it's a comfy one this time!

With my snoring I'll be on that pull out all 9 nights, I hope it is comfy :confused3 Laughingplace, your best friend can get comfy with me but my DW may get angry ;) :rotfl2:

Well MrGrumpy222, thanks for the offer, but I'm afraid I'll have to decline on my friend's behalf. It would be difficult for us to enjoy the parks and holiday festivites if your jealous wife was stalking us! :rotfl2:

We have had our share of lumpy beds, but the ones at OKW are really good!!!!!

I understand laughinplace, but I'm not sure if my DH will be jealous or just be happy to be rid of me :rotfl2: :rotfl2: You're a good sport! If I'm not careful I'll be on the balcony at my 2BR at OKW.
PS. My DW is a sweetheart and my Snow White, I just like to tease :earboy2:
Cheers

Mr. Grumpy, it looks like we'll be at OKW at the same time. If I see anyone sleeping on the balcony, I'll know it's you. Have a fun trip!

Good observation! I missed that. Now if you see a guy about 6'1", dark brown hair, crystal blue eyes and a body like a G.Q. model IT"S NOT ME! But do get his autograph because he's probably a movie star. If I am on the balcony and my snoring annoys you, PLEASE throw something soft, I bruise easily. ;)
Thank you for your warm wishes.
I hope you and your family have a Great time too.

DD stayed on the pull-out and never complained, but she's six and could sleep on a tree stump if she was tired! One night she slept with me in the King bed since she and I had to get up early to go to a dance competition and DH wanted to sleep, so he volunteered for the pull-out. Biggest mistake he says he's ever made! I'm "hoping" that we got one of the rooms that didn't have the new couches!

We had DS2 with us - and we put him in a pack-n-play in the laundry room, which he loved! He had his own space and room and was really happy there.

Our room in January 05 still had the old style and it was NOT comfortable for an adult.
What building were you in? The newer buildings might still have the old style sleeper sofas, since they would not have had a rehab yet.

In July we did a split 2 week stay.

First week at OKW (Bldg 18) - very comfortable pullout :cool1:

Second week at BCV (Rm 274) - very UNcomfortable pullout - even with an egg crate on top

We were at OKW Labor Day weekend. The pull-out couch in Bldg. 16 -1 BR, was very comfy. I tried it out did not sleep on it. My 3 kids -10, 9 and 7 were able to all sleep and fit on the couches -btwn the pull-out and the small sofa. I think even if you had the 3 kids they would fit. I even set up a bed w/ cushions and sheet and blanket that the kids used to watch a little TV. Of course, one night DD managed to get herself in between in the King bed.

The sofa bed was a little different than traditional. It didn't roll out w/ a mattress on top. It was more comfy than tradtional sofa beds w/ the "bar in the back".

We were in room 1824 in January 05 with the old style sofa. Maybe they have been replaced by now.
