How comfortable? Sleeper sofa at BWV, and other ???'s

So we finally decided on a resort for August - BWV as BCV didn't have any 2 bedroom villas available for our full length of stay.

We are now booked in a 2 bedroom w/Preferred view (only view available), more points so I hope it's worth it.

My major concern is, just how comfortable is the sleeper sofa in the 2nd bedroom. We have 3 boys and I would normally prefer 2 beds but BWV doesn't have any 2 bedrooms with 2 beds. :confused3 This means my older son will have to spend a week on the sleeper, he says okay but, I need to know if it's comfortable or not. He's about 5'6" so it's not a height issue, more of a how old and how well used are these beds issue. (Can you feel the bar in your back? Is the matress lumpy? Are the mattress' old/new?)

Obviously, this is our first time at this resort. We owe at SSR and stayed in a dedicated 2 bedroom last year and loved it. That said, as owners, we are looking forward to trying the other resorts.

I also see a lot of questions regarding views, so as an aside, how are the views with a preferred room? Have the rooms at BWV been upgraded recently? I was on another site and there seems to be alot negative talk about the overall condition of the rooms (worn carpet, furniture, etc.) I hope we haven't made a mistake in booking here.

Is Community Hall well used/equipped? My younger boys loved the Community Hall at SSR and I'm hoping that there is alot going on here as well. Are there activities at the pool?

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I really do appreciate it.:flower3:

The sleeper sofas were replaced at BWC, so they are the newest type where the cushions stay on the bed and flip under to support the foot of the bed. My son slept on one at BCV and he thought it was comfortable. He was about 5'10" at the time and had plenty of room.

Preferred view is usually a water view - Luna Park, community pool, canal - or the Village Green.

Can't help you with the condition of the room. All DVCs have a refurbishment schedule based on what funds are available (your dues are going up!!).

It couldn't hurt to get put on the waitlist for the Boardwalk view. It's the same number of points.....

My step-dad just slept on the pull out couch at BCV in December and he had no complaints. There's no "bars" that you can feel through the mattress. I think your boys will be pretty comfortable.

We stayed in a BWV studio in Oct and my DH prefered the sofa bed to the queen bed in our room. He said it was fimer than the queen matress. My Father also thought the sofa bed in the studio he was in was as or more comfortable than the queen bed.

We had no problems with the condition of either studio we had (ours or my parents)

Thank you for your thoughts on the sofa, I do appreciate it.

So now I guess all I have to worry/think about are:

1) ADRs and whether or not to get the dining plan, can I make all of my ADRs at the 6 month mark ?

2) Park tickets, how many days

3) Who to order groceries from (I know there are 2 good choices, just need to pick one) of course then I'll need to decide what to order

4) What to pack, I think I can wait on this one.

5) should I try (and pay for) TGM?

6) should we go to Cirque de Solie? (5 of us so it's not cheap)

7) can I get my family of boys/men into lime green?

8) are my boys old/responsible enough to venture to the Boardwalk on their own? Not alone, just without Mom or Dad?

I'm sure I'll come up with more as time goes by.

There's no perfect answer to that one - opinions on the ROI of the plan vary.

2) Park tickets, how many days

Count the number of days on property and it divide it by three. Then subract the answer from the first number (days on site). That's your answer - it takes into account the idea you should have a "not in the parks" rest day every 4th day of your visit.

3) Who to order groceries from (I know there are 2 good choices, just need to pick one) of course then I'll need to decide what to order

I've tried them all - definitely Garden Grocer!!!

4) What to pack, I think I can wait on this one.

5) should I try (and pay for) TGM?

YES YES YES

6) should we go to Cirque de Solie? (5 of us so it's not cheap)

Like the ADR, lots of different opinions here. Great show, just whether the cost is worth it (ergo, are there other things you'd like to do with those funds?

7) can I get my family of boys/men into lime green?

Great question. At night, while it's a family environment we didn't let our kids go out there by themselves at that age.

I'm sure I'll come up with more as time goes by.

Hope that helped!!!
