We're staying at BCV and trying to figure out who to put where - how comfortable are the fold-out couches in the 1BR? I'm pretty sure from previous posts that the bed is a queen - correct?

Thanks a zillion.

the sleeper sofa in the livingroom is a queen size.

forgot your first question - I don't have a problem with them. I am an older woman that is also over-weight. but some people have had problems.

My friend(41 year old adult female) says they are pretty comfortable.

They are not bad at all. I've spent a good amount of time on the ones at OKW when I've invited guests and given them the bedrooms (I'm an early riser, so it just makes sense). There is no bar hitting you in the back whenever you turn around. The mattress is fairly firm.

I am hoping the same applies at the BCV, since I'll be "on the couch" again there this Saturday night!

Penny - I didn't have a problem with the bed being uncomfortable at BCV - although the sofa is - can sandpaper type feel - I guess because the majority is going to use SALB and they want something that will not get wet easily.

I did have problems making the bed go back to a sofa - so I would practise while the bell hop is there (I didn't) - so you won't need to call housekeeping to get it closed. I haven't had this problem at any of the other DVC resorts.

My two DD's (13 and 11) slept on the foldout bed for a week, and while they said it wasn't as comfortable as their beds at home, it was definitely a lot better than sleeping on other sofa beds they've had the pleasure of sleeping on.

I didn't try it by my DW did and didn't seem to have any complaints - of course that was only for a couple hours during movie night...does that count?

:o

The mattresses in the fold out couch at BCV have only one comfortible side. The bottom is all springs covered by a thin sheet of material. If it doesn't feel comfortible, check the mattress. We did this last January and the mattress was upside down! You can tell which side should be up because there is a stiched label that says "THIS SIDE UP". Housekeeping apparently hadn't noticed that when they put the mattress in the couch.
