How Come People Don't Like "Outside Hallways"

Like a previous poster said, I prefer outside hallways because I am afraid of fires in tall inside corridor buildings. When staying in big cities, in tall hotel buildings, I always make a mental note of how we will get out just in case. I guess that's just the mom in me!!!
