We are leaving in 10 days and the weather looks chilly!!! Does it feel really that cold down there? Are people using the pools at these temps??

Thanks.

Beth :beach:

High today 54 and going down to 37 tonite...we consider this cold! in ten days still cool...says 69 during day but rain and 49 at night....just got back from a short trip and only a few very brave kids were in the pools....weather changes are up and down this time of year here...can be warm one day and plummet the next...I would prepare for both types of weather.

I have been here for a week, and have only been in a hot tub twice. Very few people have gone in the pool. We have a pool view in Jambo, so if people were using it, we would notice!

I packed for 3 seasons and so far needed it all! When we checked in it was 80 degrees. Last night I needed a fleece jacket and long pants. Today I plan on wearing my lighter coat. That said, 10 days can make a big difference in the weather so you will get better data closer to departure.

We arrive Sat. and it is looking pretty cold!
I am coming from mid 70's so packed coat, sweatshirt, windbreaker, gloves, umbrella and ponchos. I am ready.............and it will be great no matter what....WE'LL BE AT DISNEY WORLD!! :mickeyjum

Been watching too. The last couple of years we were lucky. Doesn't look like it this year. We arrive in 6 days and I dread packing. You have to pack a little of everything. 60s is still better than here at home

Hi - how long will you be at Jambo? I am packing right NOW for this weekend (arrive late tomorrow night) - we will have a std. studio at Jambo for 4 nights.

I am hoping to just do carry-ons but this weather forecast is making it tough. I bought "packable down" jackets for all of us for Sat & Sun nights and I am bringing a pair of long johns for each of us (late night EMH's on Sun night sound chilly). In addition to the down jackets (which roll up and compress into these little drawstring bags that will fit in the backpack) I am bring 1 heavy fleece for each of us to layer over another shirt. Wearing 1 pr. of jeans and packing 1 spare pr. plus 1 other misc. type pr. of pants. I have been hawking TWC and Accuweather 2-3 times a day for several days now. This morning the forecast for Mon. looked OK-ish as in slightly warmer (70) probably still not pool weather as it says 15 mph wind gusts. There was a zero % chance of rain for the whole weekend tho so I have to look at that as the bright spot. But def. will bring gloves & heavy socks etc. (Doesn't look like I'll be riding Kali River this go-around!! :rotfl:) My Dcousin was down there last week/weekend for the marathon & they had nice warm weather (but some rain I think). She always manages to get the better weather when we both go in January. :rolleyes1

I live down here this time of year. I had 47 this AM at home. I'm in Epcot now (waiting for Off Kilter) and it shows 53 now. The wind has calmed down now so it's OK in the sun.

I hope you're enjoying the low crowds, even if the weather is on the chilly side! Snow in the forecast here for the Great White North.

Pool at Jambo is closed tonight! I think because of the chill!

We will miss you! We leave here on Saturday, move to BWV for 3 nights!
I am so happy we have a Western Caribbean Cruise beginning later this month, because I have 2 snorkeling excursions booked.

The fact that it was 18 degrees and snowing today back home helps me deal with this weather.

Animal kingdom for us tomorrow. We will try Yak & Yeti for our first time.:goodvibes

You know, we were here for Marathon weekend, it was not much warmer. We made it to a hot tub, but really, the pools were mostly empty. Yes, Saturday night it poured!!

Praying for a heat wave in Feb!

I keep wishing WDW had an indoor pool ;)

Dressing in layers is your best bet! It's 48 where I live in SW FL (moved from Chicago 4 months ago) and I can tell you that I could see my breath when I took the dog out! And while that doesn't sound so cold, when you're out there for hours on end, walking around, it can get to be too much! The wind can really whip through Epcot, too!

We were just up for marathon weekend and a couple of nights it got down into the 40's. We needed light jackets, with sweatshirts underneath to be comfortable.

I would even bring gloves (the knit kind) or you might be buying the Mickey ones for $8!!!

37 degrees this morning! Steam rising from the pools!

It was mid 80s in the Caribbean last week, Bobbi.....so enjoy!

Not looking forward to the cold temps.......colder than here at home :(
But it is WDW, so I can cope :rotfl:
I packed layers and gloves.

Hoping its warmer when we go in March! We have had a very cold winter with more temps in the single digits next week (NENY)

We live here. Colder this morning here than Boston. We are normally lows around 50 and highs around 71. This month has been a roller coaster of temperatures we have had frosts and mid 80s.

Check the local forecast the day before you leave and plan accordingly. Best advice I can give you is bring layers this time of year.

We were at AKV 13-17 Pool view in Jambo. The giraffes were taken inside on Wednesday for their own safety because the weather was just too cold for them. The pools were also open only 11-6 on Thurs and I suspect were on a similar shortened schedule on Fri. I think Typhoon Lagoon was closed on Thurs because of the weather. I was disappointed, nothing beats hot tubs when it is really cold! I did go in to the hot tubs on Thurs and was not the only one using them. They also moved some of the kids activities inside.

Though to be honest, it didn't seem so bad to me, at least if you were walking around. It felt like a crisp Fall day? I even bought an ice cream on Thurs after dancing at the Dino Dance Party. I didn't feel like the cold on Thurs affected crowds vs the rain on the 14th definitely did!
