How closely are room keys checked for FOTL?

We're going in June and staying one night at Royal Pacific so that we can get two days of FOTL. If we go back to the parks a couple of days later, how close will the ride attendants look at our room keys to see if they are current?

I actually saw a family get turned away on Spidey in 2006. I didn't hear the exact resoning, but the CM said something about pass not being valid. The family didn't argue, just left quitely.

Not sure expired room key was the reson, but they were checking something.

Wouldn't you still have 1 day left?

They check fairly regularly.

But much like shoplifting, there's always a chance you can get away with it if you have no moral issues to stop you.

It varies but overall I say they do check. I've had attendants take the card in their hands and check the date while others just glance at it from far away. I'd say its 50/50 so if you want to try and sneak past them just stand by the entrance for a min or two and see what technique the attendant uses to check the key cards. I think they check more during peak times and less when the park is emptying out. You might be able to get away with it as long as you play it smart. Just don't try to ride Popeye's at 12:00 PM :thumbsup2

All TMs are trained to Confiscate expired/improper express. Abusing the system is a big no-no.

:thumbsup2 :worship: :thumbsup2 :worship: I agree, and I don't believe the dis is intended to be used as a tool for scams either. :sad2:

They were checking very closely when we were there a few weeks ago. It would be awfully embarrassing to get caught.

In my experience I've never had someone check closely at IOA but at Universal I've had them look it over closely quite a few times. This has been during both peak and non-peak times.

We are here right now. They are checking VERY closely. They have checked the date every single time for every single member of our party (all six of us) for every ride. No more just flashing your card as you walk by. The ride attendents have checked every time, every ride for the past 5 days. And it is not even that busy.

Might I suggest another strategy is to use your FOTL cards the 2 days you have them to go on the BIG MAJOR rides...and then if you go back, go to more minor attractions that don't need the FOTL as much.

Thanks for the suggestion. I appreciate the gentle handslap without judgement.

They have always looked at the cards.I have never seen anyone give a quick glance, person had to show their card and it was checked for the date. I have seen people turned away many times:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Better yet I have seen a woman asked to leave the club level room in the middle of her breakfast because she did not belong...even more :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My question is to people like that is Why? Why do you think you are entitled to be above the rules and try to get away with something you did not pay for? There is a reason for the dates on the card.....Totally classless.

Good idea! Everyone has to wait to a certain extent for the shows anyway, so why not see some of the shows, like BeetleJuice and Terminator on the days that you don't have FOTL?

Your check in and out dates are printed on the card and are only valid during those time. If you use it after those dates, you can be escorted out of the park, but mostly your pass is taken away.

So not only do you not get on the ride, but you get thrown out of the park and your tickets removed. Certainly not worth it.
