This had probably asked a billion times, and it will probably all "depend" on something, so I'll be as descriptive as possible...
I think some of you already saw that I have been planning for an Asian-style wedding and while I think it's fun and I'm having a wonderful time thinking of ideas...
It's gonna take forever for it to happen.
I'm probably the most indecisive person in the world. It's a wonder I managed to splurt out "yes" when my fiancee popped the question, but then, that's the one question I've never even had to think twice about what my answer would be.
Anyway! Back on topic: So, knowing that with this Chinese/Asian style wedding comes a long while - and I could be patient and good about it - in my attempt to keep my spirits up about the wait I watched one too many wedding shows and got other ideas...
Ideas for how I would do an alternate wedding...
See, I'm not the sort of person who has to have a certain type of wedding. I can take any theme and make it something I'd love. I love coming up with ideas and it used to be a good thing, but now it's a curse. =\
I've been looking up beach weddings. Having a little crown made of seashells, a sand castle wedding cake, and either a sarong wedding dress or something antique-looking...
Don't get me wrong. I'll repeat: I got giddy about the idea of having an Asian wedding and I think that would be so fun for all my guests to see, seeing as the only type of wedding they've been to are traditional ones.
But a beach is non-traditional too. Instead of a unity candle, we'd do the unity sand ceremony (which I think is pretty sweet) and maybe it might be cheaper and maybe, because it's cheaper, we could get married sooner! I'm not impatient...but I've also been engaged a really, really long time. And I really do like both ideas equally as much.
But I won't do the beach wedding if it's not (way) cheaper to do. That's how I'm deciding which theme to go with (since I've been flip-flopping back and forth).
I still want it to be done by Disney. After all, I still would like it to be vacationish and magical. But that's where the big question is...how cheap can a Disney wedding be? I would have loved to do the Escape Wedding...but we'd have more than 18 guests. Why, if I were to just have MY mom, dad, sisters and their family, plus myself and DF we'd be 15. And then I have my two friends and they'll want to bring their families (they're dear friends of ours too) and then my fiancee has his friends and family he wants to bring, too. We don't have a lot of friends, but we are friends with their families and it would be rude to not invite them. All in all, it looks like about 50 guests. Still intimate. Just not at intimate as 18 people.
We're looking for a theme that's either beach/boarwalk-ish, or something with a slight Victorianish/southern charm but simplistic.
Maybe that much detail wasn't necessary, but if any of you helpful Disney Brides have any suggestions or prices for me to ponder on, it'd be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Oh! And just to clarify, DF gets a Disney Cast member discount on the wedding. I believe 20% or more?
