How can people be so...

Sorry haven't posted for a while, probably still embarrassed I didn't write that trip report... again!

Anyway, two of my work collegues have been to DLP in the last 4 weeks, both with there partners, one with 2 kids 4 & 8 the other with 1 who's 5 so we'd expect similar reactions. Not so! The one I expected to be a bit cool with it came back gushing about the whole 'magical' experience' so much that they are booking to go to WDW! The other more 'fun' person came into work today and just whined about it! Crouds were too much, rude people, Peter Pan was 'naff', Buzz Lightyear, what was the point of that and the list went on.

Now I appreciate that people have different opinions and I respect that, hey when we visited the first time I wasn't happy with the rudeness but loved the park and what it was, but how can someone not love the rides, the atmosphere, the experience. Maybe they've been spoilt withthere yearly trip to Cyprus! (no offence intended Cyprus)

Anyway, food for thought and a big hello to everyone :wave2:

Weird - isn't it!!!! :confused3

but how can someone not love the rides, the atmosphere, the experience.

I certainly don't understand how someone can't find something to like at DLP.

BTW, don't be embarrassed about not having written a trip report - I'm not!!!! ;) :teeth: Good to see you again. :)

I suspect it was the crowds and the expectations.

We're two fairly cynical non-Disney people, who went to Disney LA 2 years back as part of a US trip on the grounds that this would be a great reward for the kids.

But we were amazed at how much we got out of it - we expected little and had a sensational time. Going in early December when there were no crowds, no queues but wonderful Christmas decorations and parades certainly enhanced our experience.

However, other friends of ours who expected to love the place had a horrible time with huge crowds, insane queues and hot weather - they were very disappointed and won't go back.

Even Disney cannot please everyone.

I think what surprised me most was that they just didn't get anything out of it! No mention of any positives just negatives all the way through, my other collegue who has mercilessly taken the mickey about our trips, came back and hasn't stopped talking about it!

LucyKate, we'll be visiting your fantastic country in December, going to be based in Sydney, we were toying with the idea of going down to Canberra but weren't sure, is it worth the trek?

What annoys me even more are the people who are sooooo negative about Disney and they've never been.

Now that really winds me up! :furious:

Still just think - one less family in the queues! :rotfl2:

Well the friend that went early August was exactly that, screwed her face up when I talked about Disney and pretty much laughed when she saw what we bring back, now...she's the same, everytime I see her she can't stop talking about it!

Some folk you will never please though. I didn't enjoy my first trip half as much as my second but I was better prepared for the amount of walking and had a clearer idea of which rides were within my scope. Having polyarthritis makes it difficult to know if a ride is going to make you worse so I avoided several rides that I thoroughly enjoyed on the second trip.

Yeah sadly some don't get pleased, I know someone who refused to even like DLRP since he hates the idea of Disney so he visited DLRP with this attitude and ended up hating the place, believeing it was a cheap commercial idea, and cheap is definately not one of the things it is.
