I have a reservation done renting points that I would like to verify directly with the resort. It's that possible or only the member can do it?

Thank You

Do you have the reservation number? You need that to check.

Non-members are not supposed to call Member Services. You can call the resort directly. Be sure to tell them it is a DVC points reservation you are verifying. If they don't find it, ask them again if they checked the DVC ressies. Sometimes it takes until that second try.

Good luck

Don't they have to wait until 2 or 3 days before arrival if they are calling the resort directly? IIRC, the resort doesn't get the DVC reservations downloaded to them until then.

If you have the reservation confirmation number, MS will veriufy that it exists and that it is in your name, but that is all you could do. MS will only accept changes or answer other types of questions for the owner.

If you don't have the confirmation letter (or a copy of it), contact the owner.

Best wishes -

I have the original confirmation that the owner sent me. I called directly to the resort and they transferred me to the regular reservations area, I didn't tell them that it was with DVC points. Maybe I should try calling again and tell them to see to whom they will transfer me again, but apparently the resort can't give me that information.

That seems to be a rumor. I have my guests call the way I recommended and there have been no problems verifying as long as they state DVC points. I tried it myself once just to be sure.

Non-members IMHO should not be tying up the membership line (both in time and money).

GUESS WHAT!! I just called to the resort and stated the DVC points and yes the resort was able to confirm the reservation. Thanks a lot to everybody!!

I did try this myself, and state DVC points. They said to call member services because they didn't have the information yet! (Beach Club specifically. I didn't call OKW or VWL.)

It doesn't matter to me if a non-member calls member services to check on their reservation. There is a finite number of points used for reservations that would be booked or checked on by a member if not by a guest of the reservation.

On our first DVC trip, my husband called weekly!! I think that he just liked talking to the CMs :earsgirl:
