How can I sell a fake handbag?

Before I was laid off, I was given a fake Gucci bag from a co-worker overseas. After googleing and comparing it to images online, I could not tell it was fake until my co-worker told me it was (I did not ask him - lol).
Anyway, I would like to sell it. Does Ebay or Craigslist have any restrictions on selling fake bags? If so, how could I sell it online?

There is crackdown on selling fake handbags on ebay. I am not sure if you have to declare it fake or anything but there has been some federal investigations into fake bags being sold as authentic on ebay.

I'd avoid eBay...they're pretty serious about fake anything! Craigslist is much more "laid back" about what you list, so that's definitely worth a try.

Another idea, if you have a lot of Facebook contacts, is putting it up on there. I just found a girl who sells nothing but fake Coach/Juicy/Prada etc bags and jewelry on her Facebook page. I think they get "friends" from word of mouth and she's charged nothing for doing it. A great way to sell, until FB catches on, I guess.

Craigslist or not, I would not encouage anyone to sell anything that is clearly "fake" by their own admission (for those who don't know, it's a federal crime to sell counterfiet merchandise in this country).

Don't believe me? Go to www.ice.gov and check-out "counterfeit merchandise"...

It's a counterfeit bag... how much could it possibly be worth? And yes, it's against Ebay's TOS (not to mention Trademark infringement) to sell such a bag.

And, there is a bunch of women on Ebay that monitor all of the purses, and let you know if they are fake, and to take them off. My Sister had the hardest time with that bunch of ladies when she was selling a Kate Spade handbag. It was not fake - she had the receipt from when she bought it. She was inundated with emails from this bunch of women telling her it was a fake and that they were going to report her to Ebay. They finally admitted they were wrong and backed off - but it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Thanks everyone. I realized how silly my question was after I re-read my post. I figured if I wasn't going to use it, someone else could enjoy it. But, the last thing I want to do is rip off a company and fined or put in jail.

You absolutely can not sell a fake bag on Ebay. Don't know about Craigslist.

Ditto. Not worth the hassle.

Are you sure you won't want to hold onto the bag for the future? If it's a high quality counterfeit, you probably will have a use for it again one day.

I just read through every post of Days of Sandra and Oskar's Lives...

All I can say is...ugh Hopefully, one day, with age will come wisdom.
