using my Disney Visa and get in on the double the rewards promo? (I also have a valid DC card.)

I know... my parents are residents and they are buying the passes for my children. They are taking them this fall and upcoming spring.

Well the short response is you can't since you are not the Fl. Resident.

someone may be able to have someone else buy the tickets (voucher) but when you go to change them into an actual pass, you need a FL ID.....there is no getting around that ......each pass will need a FL ID...not just one.

I am aware of all the resident requirements....my parents (FL residents) are taking the girls (minors). I want to purchase the passes on my Disney Visa (for double rewards) and use my DC for the discount. My parents will then reimburse me the cost of the passes and they will activate the passes when they go.

So...back to the op.....how do I purchase the resident seasonal passes using both Disney Visa (DV?) and DC discount. Will DV credit double rewards if I purchase from WDWonline or over phone? Or is it strictly purchases made at DS (Disney Store), in which case, I won't be in FL to get to a DS to purchase the passes, and therefore wouldn't get the double reward credit.

With me?

You can't. Since the catalog and TDS web site don't sell tickets, that means you have to buy them in person in the store.

The only way around it I can see is if you are willing to send your parents your Visa card for them to use when they make the purchase in a FL TDS store.

Sending your parents the Visa probably won't work. They have to show ID to prove that they are residents and I would HOPE the CM would notice the ID does not match the Visa.

Maybe you could get a Visa card with their name on it? I know Visa issued me a card in my name on my parent's account when I was in college.

I doubt the TDS in Florida would allow your parents to use your DC or Visa. Especially if you have different last names.

FYI...you might get more responses if you didn't use the little  smiley.

Drat! Not worth all the hassle for a few points... Just wondered if there were something I was missing. Guess not!

Just as an aside, I don't believe you have to show ID at point of purchase, just at point of activation. I could purchase hundreds of residents passes, (always glad to take the $$), but better have the ID to use them!

I was only commenting on my own confusing explanation, making fun of myself....no offense toward others. That would be stupid, seeing as I'm asking for help.

I'm not 100% positive on this- but I thought that FL resident passes could only be purchased at the WDW ticket booths (guest services)? Can you get them elsewhere? Jill

If you really wanted to use your VISA to purchase the passes you could order a Card in your parents name. I know I have my mom's card in my name, in case I find something to buy while I am on a trip. That way we don't have to play games with her reimbursing me.

But you won't get double points (unless there is some deal going on that i don't know of). And your mom won't be able to use your DC card, since it is in your name.

We just did a similar purchase. My Mom (non-resident) bought the passes for my family (residents), as an early Xmas gift. We called WDW, had the passes charged to her card, and the vouchers sent to us. We only had to show ID for the adults at the ticket booth at WDW when we traded the vouchers for the passes. I was told by the WDW agent when we bought the passes that anyone can purchase these, but only a FL resident can use them. As far as using points..not sure on that one, but I would call WDW and ask. Hope this helps!

If you buy them online (not disney store, but disney vacations) you can use your visa, but i'm not sure about DC discount (if it even applies) or double points (I always use my amex). I've also purchased them by phone.
Keep in mind, there is no advance purchase savings on FL resident tickets and you won't actually get the tickets, you'll be mailed vouchers, which your parents will need to exchange for tickets once there, so if they're paying anyway, they might just want to buy them once there instead of trying to do a big payment hassle.

I always buy my tickets at my AAA office. Just bought seasonal passes in Sep (got the vouchers to redeem at any window at WDW). Anybody can buy these vouchers, but AAA members get a discount on the tickets. So I saved a few more dollars, which I spent in the parks instead!

If you are an AAA member or someone you know, you might try the AAA office.

I think FL is the only state that sells these.
