How Can I Look Like a DDP Pro?

First time to Disney (when I was ten doesn't count!) and of course first time on the DDP. Wondering what everyone's tips are to look like you know what you're doing? I read a lot of posts of people being confused at the restaurants etc and I don't want to be that person.

So far I have my ADRs for the right restaurants. I'm looking over what the DDP includes (per allears.net) and getting familiar with the menus and what we might order.

Here are a few starting points;

#1 - People in your group (ages of kids, etc.)
#2 - If the children are young, I would HIGHLY suggest you select restaurants that have character meals & buffets. It's sooooo easy to deal with youngsters when you get buffets for Mom & Dad to enjoy while the kids 'jump' around alot dealing with the characters and all.

After the first 5 minutes in the first restaurant you will find out there was nothing to worry about. And now you are a Pro. 2 years in a row 7 nights and 9 nights, many restaurants and no problems. The DDP was great. And we did have all the all ears menus memorized and kind of knew beforehand what we were going to order.
Nothing to worry about.

The only time we felt lost was when we were doing counter service or snacks.

At the Pop food court they had everything clearly marked that was a snack item. We ended up just using them all there and paying OOP for any other snacks that week.

The first day we were there I suspect we looked lost because a CM who was standing in the food court asked if we needed any help. We told her we didn't know how it worked and she explained what we were allowed and what was included and what wasn't. After that we felt much better !

Don't worry, you'll only feel that way on your first day.

By day two, you'll feel like a pro!

Seriously, the table service meals will go smoothly, but the counter service meals will sometimes depend as much on the CM's knowledge, as it does on your own knowledge.

I print out the counter service menus for places we might try and bring them along.

That way everybody can look them over and have some idea what they want to order instead of hearing, "What do they have here?" when it's time to order.

Also I think you are already a pro because you are more informed than the average guest by being on the DIS.
