everywhere i read it says that during the summer:sunny: its important to drink alot of water :drinking: but does that mean i have to keap buying bottles of water :beach:because that can get pricey and i dont want to carry 6 bottles of water from my resort each day.:drinking1 what do you guys do? if they have any water fountains is the line usually long and does the water taste good and cold? :confused3
:wave2:

We budget it in and buy water. We just prefer the taste of Dasani vs the FL tap water. There are lots of drinking fountains around and you can request a glass of tap water from any service counter. You can also drag your own in and carry it around. Which we did when we had a stroller to carry it! It's just far easier for us to buy it.

We bought cheap bottles of water from Walmart, put them in our fridge at our hotel and then took one out each to the parks everyday. We just kept them in our bags. It wasn't really too much trouble for us.

:) I just buy about 2 Bottles a day if were at a theme park because i dont think about water im to busy thinking about all the Rides lol

:teacher: Here's what I plan on~ I'm going to buy a case of Aqua Pana (my fave) and freeze it (I happen to know someone who works at a place w a big walk in freezer and wont mind doing us a favor. I'll keep it in our cooler in the room, suplimenting with ice from the resort's machine daily. Also, I have heard of britta filters/ bottles that you can refill at fountains, which cleans up the off- taste. Also, you could carry small individual packets of kool-aid or crystal light to flavor your water. In addition to that, any CS will be glad to give you a cup of ice water, as far as I know ~ but I dont know if they expect you to make a purchase :confused3

I would buy 1 bottle of water a day but would refill it at every water fountain I could find. I would put the individual Crystal Light in the water. I don't have a problem drinking the water. I think it is so very important to keep hydrated especially when you are at Animal Kingdom.

We go to publix and buy bottled water. We go to the publix near the AKL on Black Lake Rd. Since we are DVC members, we freeze the bottles and put them in carriers. They say nice and cold because it takes hours before the ice melts. We go back to our room after lunch for a break and restock the water carriers. We also buy a gallon of water and refill some of the bottles when the supply gets low.

The water from the water fountains is nasty! :crazy2: especially if you refill another bottle and don't finish it before it gets warm! Here's what we did this past july: I found (at Walgreens) water bottles with insulated carriers and a strap long enough to go over our shoulder. I made sure the top of the bottle had a big/wide lid so we could easily fill it with ice at the resort and when we stopped at counter service restaurants. It also had a nice little pull up spout thingy to drink from without spilling. It worked out pretty well. I would also second the recommendation to take the crystal light or whatever brand drink mixes. It can be very difficult or very expensive to stay hydrated.

We bought several Hydration packs. You can get them at any hiking or camping store. They can be like a big fanny pack with seperate sections for maybe your wallet, camera and snacks, and then a pouch for water, or any other drink, like lemonade or juice. It has a tube that you drink the water
though. We also bought ones that go on the kids back like a small backpack. They hold about a 1 1/2 liters. We fill the pouch with icewater when we leave our room and it lasts quite a while. If you have to have bottled water you can buy gallons at the store and fill the pouch partway the night before and freeze it.

We got refilled our water bottles at the water fountains, and the water wasn't that bad. It wasn't cold but it wasn't hot either. We used those water flavoring packets, too. We got the off-brand packets (instead of the Crystal Light packets).

I just keep buying new bottles.

People complain about the taste of the water in the fountains a lot. Depends on your taste! It's fine with me. But it isn't really crisp and cold.

The possibility of dehydration and the consequences made me conclude that buying a bottle of water every hour or two was a necessity in my budgeting. I don't remember the price off the top of my head, but I remember thinking it wasn't too outrageous--for Disney pricing. I was there for 7 days in July.

Considering that some people spend $20-$50 for souveniers per day, spending $10-15 on water during July in FLORIDA :beach: seems quite reasonable.

We buy bottles of water at Publix. We take one with us every day, but don't hesitate to refill them from the fountains during the day. True, it's not cold and crisp, but when you are thirsty it does the job. If I'm going to spend $3 for a bottle of something at the parks, it's going to have some flavor in it (and/or caffeine). ;)

We take water bottles with straps from home. Each morning I fill them with ice and water before heading to the parks. We refill as needed throughout the day.

Since the tap water there doesn’t bother us, this is cheaper than buying bottled water all week.

We also take the sports bottles (wide mouth to fit ice) with insulated carriers with straps long enough to sling over our shoulders - everyone carries their own. We fill them with ice/water from the resort in the morning.
Any of the restaurants - even the counter service ones will give you a cup of ice or ice water if you ask. We would do this periodically throughout the day to refill our bottles. The food court at the Land at EPCOT is great for this. They will let you fill them with water and ice yourself at the drink stations as long as you use a cup to do it and don't put your water bottle against the machines.

We packed water in 1 or 2 softsided coolers (depending on how long we wanted to stay for the day.)....BUT we had two strollers to keep the coolers on. It killed me to spend $2.00 a bottle the frst day before our grocery delivery came .

We stock up on the water and freeze some. We use the refrigerated ones first and later in the day the previously frozen ones. The frozen ones keep the others cold throughout the day. We also bring the individual size drink mixes for the kids. We just put it in our backpack and haven't had a problem.

All of the counter service restaurants will give you free cups of ice water. All you have to do is walk up to the order window and ask for it. The water is filtered. This is what i usually do , you may want to try it. Eliminates carrying around and or buying expensive bottled water from the parks.

Well think of it this way. If you have four people in your family and are at Disney for 7 days and eachbuy four water bottles a day at at about $2.50 a bottle that equals $280 just on water!!!! In my personal opinion that is outrageous. I Figure that a person needs to drink about 6 water bottles a day in the summer. So at breakfast, that is one. Then pack two person for the morning. Then at lunch you get one with your lunch. Right before you leave ask for a refill and fill your water bottle with it. OR if you go back to the hotel restock on water bottles. Yes between lunch and dinner you might have to refill your water bottle once more at a water fountain but then you can use crystal light packets or gatorade or Kool aid to make the water taste better.
