My mom was a die-hard Beatles fan in the 1960's. She's going to see Paul McCartney at Candlestick Park on August 14th. Her dream is to get backstage passes. I realize that's next to impossible. How would we go about getting them? WHO do you have to know to get this to happen? My DH has a friend who works with celebrities that perform in Reno, NV. We asked him if he could get my mom backstage passes to Paul McCartney and he laughed and said "No way. Paul McCartney's WAY too famous." On the other side of things, Paul McCartney DID talk to my mom at a concert back in 2010. She had third row seats and made a sign that said "I saw you in 1964 at the Cow Palace. Remember me?" He read it out loud and did say a few words to her. Pretty neat! :thumbsup2

That sounds about as close as it can get, having him acknowledge her at a show. Its starting to look like the shows this summer aren't going to happen, Paul is having health issues.

I wish you luck getting your mom some face time with Paul M. Is your mom pretty even-keeled emotionally? I have managed to make a big **** of myself when I get an arms length away from any celebrity I love. Its like a crazy person takes control of me.

I always hoped to get my mom face time with the Bee Gees. She adored them from the 1960's on. Oh my gosh how I dreamed of the way it would happen......Never happened. :(

No advice , but keeping my finger crossed that the show goes on and your mom gets her wish!!

My mom met Ringo Starr and was pretty cool about it. I'm sure she'd be different with Paul McCartney, as he was (is) the most popular Beatle.

Make a sign saying she wants to meet him backstage...it probably won't work, but then again, maybe it will; after all, it worked for that girl who wanted his autograph on her arm so she could turn it into a tattoo.

As for him canceling the tour, I doubt it. He had a virus in Japan that made him cancel his shows there, but that doesn't mean he has lingering health issues. At least I hope not.

Good luck to your mom. I've seen Paul in concert, and they are a wonderful, wonderful thing to experience!

That's a very creative idea. :thumbsup2

Do they have those meet and greets like - oh don't hate me - the young pop stars? If you buy a VIP ticket some of them come with a meet and greet.

Otherwise. I'd fold a poster to bring in(because some venues won't allow them), unfold it towards the end... who knows...it could happen!!!! Let us know!!

My husband loves Paul. I'm a little concerned about Paul's health issues. I'm hoping everything is 'coming up' for him and your mom. Does she want a tattoo? ;)

I already checked and they don't. :sad2:

I doubt it will happen. He's so famous.

My husband had a ticket to see him soon in Atlanta and that has now been moved to October because of Paul's illness.

I had tickets to see him in 2 weeks but our concert was postponed until October. I was SO psyched for this show that I almost cried when I found out.

I hope Sir Paul is recovering well!!

But I think there's almost no chance of meeting him. I would like to believe that anything is possible, but he's one of the most famous people alive today and I believe his security must be very, very tight.

I don't have any advice, but hope something works.

Hate to admit it, but I once wrote a letter to Springsteen (many, many years ago) because he was coming town and I was too broke to afford a ticket. It was a long shot and I didn't get a reply. But, as my husbands tells me, what's the worse thing that can happen. The answer is no.

After one of his concerts, Paul and I both stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston...just not together

I know because his decoy entourage was at front of hotel, ( all of us staying there waiting FOREVER- )while he sneaked in the back:rotfl:

I'm a huge Paul fan too but I don't have any help to offer. Quite honestly, I wouldnt want to be one of the people to go thru the trouble to try to meet him in a concert setting anyway. I would imagine artists are very distracted and it probably wouldnt be the kind of meeting you would be looking for anyway, jmo. There would probably be a greater likelihood of meeting him near where he lives in NYC or in the hamptons. I saw an article and photo where he helping his daughter with a lemondade stand in the hamptons, so cute if you google it. Can you imagine!! Ok so anyway thats my fantasy of how I will meet him, happy to share :) I hear he is very nice and down to earth, amazingly!! The closest I have come was meeting one of Linda Mccartney's sisters, unfortunately I wasnt told till after I had met her who she was. I think I would have savored the moment a bit more.
