<double sigh>
The JOKE was, here we had a person (the OP) who was donating something to help someone. The OP was doing this because they are a GOOD PERSON.
Then another person (me) wants to
look like a good person, so they offer suggestions. Then greed kicks in, (because they are NOT a good person) and they see a chance to score some
DVC points, by claiming they have a sick child. So rather then say their child has cancer, they say their child has the flu, which in 99.99999% of cases means you get the runs, throw up, and get better the next day.
Something as seemingly innocent as the flu was chosen to make it
obvious the greedy poster (me) was simply trying to obtain points buy pretending they had a sick child.
Obviously people die from the flu, they can also die from slipping on a banana peel, yet that is used as comic relief.
It's sarcasm, and irony. It's used all the time to illustrate situational humor.
If I am ever faced with an illness that leaves me with time to be "terminal", I know that over the course of time I will lose my dignity, and in time my life, I pray that throughout the journey I keep my sense of humor. I laughed with my father on his death bed, to this day he remains my hero........
To those of you who have lost a love one,............well we all have, and someday our loved ones will lose us. It's Gods will......I often wonder how God can call for a child, it baffles me. But then I think what a wonderful place heaven must be with all those children. I look forward to being with them.
