How can I contact 'Ohana?

check out the wave or the grand floridian cafe, we have always been able to get a reservation, and its a la carte.

Thanks, I realize they eat the same food, the price difference is just based on amount of food expected to be eaten.

I've tried to google an email or phone number, but the only thing I found was the standard phone number for dining reservations.

This question comes up fairly often, and I have never heard of Disney charging a lesser fee with a doctor's note. Sorry. Disney even charges full price for people who sit at those meals and eat nothing.

Most of what Disney charges for many meals has nothing to do with the amount of food expected to be eaten, but for the atmosphere and experience. I know I for sure never get my money's worth of food when I eat at those meals. One plate and I'm full.

I would say it is risky indeed to bring the card along expecting to be charged the lesser price. And would keep the flat fee ADRs only if your friend is comfortable being charged the full price.

Won't work. Regardless of any public number dialled it will go to the call centre. There are no direct numbers you can call.

Have the request put on the reservation and talk to the restaurant when you get there. However, from what I've seen in the past at least be prepared to be turned down.

Odd that the call cannot be transferred--when we're at OKW we get calls transferred to our room all the time--can't be too hard to get a call transferred to Ohana--unless of course they have no phone.

FACT #1432 OF WDW LIFE:

1) WDW does not reduce meal costs due to bariatric surgery.
2) Period.
3) There are several reasons
. . . those "cards" can be made up by anyone on their home computer
. . . there is no way for a server to watch what everyone eats to assure small portions
. . . it would not be fair to others who simply have smaller appetites
. . . the eatery wants the profit
. . . in the event of characters or entertainment, these costs need to be recouped

1) The recipient of the call has the right to refuse the transfer.
2) The Call Center contacts the eatery and asks if they want the call.
3) If they are busy or don't like the topic, they refuse to accept the transfer.

Although I do know the whole idea is NOT to have individual restaurants accept calls---I'm pretty sure they CAN.

No real difference btw lap band guests and 10 yo who eat 2 bites and are done

Sorry, but at ayce places one price fits all

That is true for people that go that route; however, in this case the surgery was done with a lap band that is going to be in place permanently.

Anyway, I guess I will be prepared for the person to pay $50+ for a few bites of food.

Same thing paid for a 10 year old. Probably stings a little worse when they only eat a few bites of the $50+ macaroni and cheese :rolleyes2

That's just the way it goes. We all know the price when we book the reservations. It's up to use to figure out if that's worth it or not.

i know I'm probably going to get flamed for this and regret it, but I think Disney (and all restaurants) will and should charge for an adult price. The logic that they won't eat as much is flawed. There are many people who don't/can't eat as much for various reasons but still have to pay for their full meal whether they eat it or not.

I actual agree with this. I have a 19 year old daughter who barely weighs 100 pounds and eats like a bird. She eats way less than many 9 and 10 year old kids. If Disney charged based on how much you ate then I should also be able to make the argument that I shouldn't have been charged an adult price for my 19 year old who ate barely anything when we were there earlier this month.

1) Yes, they can.
2) Same with call requests to
. . . merchandising
. . . resort housekeeping
. . . etc
3) In this case, it is up to the eatery if they wish to take the call or not.

NOTE: There are direct numbers for calls to the podium/eatery. However, these are not for publication.
