How can Garden Grove be booked!?

My son is dying to meet Goofy. I thought I'd be able to get a reservation at Garden Grove with no problem given it's not on the DDP, but I can't get dinner there from Sept 23 through 28. Should we just show up and hope for a table or is it really fully booked? We want to eat at 5 pm, party of 5.

It is definitely possible as free dining might have taken over the bookings. I would keep checking as the 45 day window for cancellations is approaching (it's Aug 9th for Sept 23rd) - there are always a few people that cancel their vacations last minute when payment is due.
Start looking everyday as of today though because those who are booked for stays beginning on Sept 13th and have 10 days worth of reservations will start cancelling their vacations (and ADR's) as of today.

The other option would be to call Garden Grove directly at 407-934-1618 to see if they have anything open or can squeeze you in.

EDITED my comment about Tusker House. Do you have any availability in the mornings?

Thanks. Nice to see a fellow Canadian. We have Tusker House booked on our last day at 10am. Just not sure we'll feel like eating before leaving for the airport and our 2pm flight. We usually grab lunch at the airport. I'll keep trying.

Are you using DME for your travel to and from the airport? If so, a 10AM reservation will NOT give you enough time to get to your DME bus for a 2PM flight. Just posting this JUST in case.

There is some availability for the dates you mentioned, although a little later. Like 7pm on 9/24. I would check every day and see what happens, that place is almost always wide open every night, especially 2 months before you go.

Remember Monday and Friday Goofy won't be there.

Thanks for this. I can never get straight when he's not there. Also we aren't using ME, so we would be fine at Tusker on the last morning. We always leave the parks at 11:30am on the last day and are always fine.

When we stayed at the S&D last time, they told us, they do not put all their tables in the Disney system. So I would definitely call the restaurant directly as a PP said, to request the time you want.
