I'm not looking for hugs, pixie dust or prayers, but I just need someone to explain this whole miserable day to me. About 6 months ago I posted that I had two long time co-workers take seriously ill. One, Midge, had 3 cancerous brain tumors and was expected to pass within 6 weeks, the other, Elaine, was told she had breast cancer for the second time and radical surgery and therepy would be needed. Midge put up a heck of a fight but I recieved a phone call in the office just a I was about to leave for the day that the battle was lost and she had passed the night before. Elaine had come through her trama and had returned to work about a month ago. Being a busy time of the year for us I hadn't noticed that she had not been around and I sadly recieved a call at home late yesterday afternoon that she too had lost her battle. Both these women were much younger than I. To put the frosting on the cake, I recieved a phone call about 9 pm from the husband of my dear friend, Nancy, of 35 years. She has cancer in both breast and will undergo a double masectomy tomorrow. The doctors, however, have told her husband that the cancer is wide spread and prognosis is not good. Three friends in one day. What more can I say?

Whether you're looking for them or not, sounds like you need a *hug*. What a day. :(

:( :( :( :(

Oh Kathy, I am so sorry. Sometimes, life just doesn't seem to make any sense. And cancer is so unfair.

I know that some would look at these events and say that this is evidence that there is no God -- if there were, how could a good and loving God allow this to happen (you know who I am talking about). But I have come to the conclusion that this approach is wrong -- it is trying to put God in the context of human understanding. And God doesn't fit human understanding.

We have to believe that there is so much we cannot and will not comprehend in life. And that's where we have to put our faith in believing that God has a purpose for everything, although we frequently do not know what that is.

I am very sorry about your losses . . .

Wow - Deb - what an eloquent post!

I can't add anything other than my deepest sympathy.

Oh my goodness, Kathy, how terribly sad.

I am so sorry for your losses. {{{hugging you tight}}}

Thanks guys! Especially you Deb, for those beautiful words. As you can imagine, I don't much feel like talking today but I had to get that off my chest. I know in my heart that Midge and Elaine are at peace now. My head just doesn't make much sense of it all.

I dont know what to say other than I am sorry Kathy. :( I am waiting to hear the news that Tracey has lost her battle with cancer. She was given 2 months almost two months ago. (she is the one I posted about that has the 2 small boys) I hate that C word. {{hugs}} for you.

I am so sorry for your losses, and best wishes to your friend undergoing her surgery.

Very beautiful post Deb!

Debbie

My Goodness! How much more can one person handle???

I'm so sorry!!!

Like it or not, you're getting Prayers, Pixie Dust and lots of:

{{{{{{{Big Huggerzzzz!!!!}}}}}}

That's an incredibly miserable day - you do deserve a {{{Hug}}}:(

I'm sorry about your friends, that's an awful lot for one person to deal with all at once.

I know you didn't ask, but my thoughts and prayers are with your friends and you.

One of these days cancer will be gone, and that day can't come soon enough for me. :mad:

Of course it's wonderful that they're at peace but it's so terribly tragic the sadness they left behind...with friends and family who loved them and will miss their presence.....

I'm so very sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you.

Kathy, I wish I had something as eloquent and profound as Deb did, but I don't. Just know that they are in a better place and smiling down on you. {{{hugs}}}

Im really sorry. Try to be good to yourself in this time.

My brother just had a massive heart attack. The angiogram yesterday showed that 2 of the arteries are completely blocked, the 3rd is 3/4 blocked. However, since he has breast cancer the cancer doc needs to consult with the heart doc to see if surgery will be beneficial or not. My brother is only 51. Its bad enough having 1 major illness, but 2?

I'm so sorry to hear about the loses in your life. Losing a friend is a hard thing to do. Losing 2 at one time and receiving sad news about another would almost be unbearable. :( I'm sorry.

You may not want a hug, but here is one {{{HUG}}}.

We never know why these things happen, and especially why they happen all at once, but know they are now out of pain.

Those of us who had cancer touch our lives know that it can be cruel.

You and your friends will be in my prayers.

Hi Kathy.

Just wanted you to see all the kind words people wrote to you.

I'm thinking about you and hoping today is a bit brighter than yesterday . . .
