Thinking of our next trip - over new Year 2006/2007. I know it will be very busy at New Years, but I was wondering how busy it was in the week after New year, maybe till 8th 9th January??

:flower:

DH and I were there Jan 3-7 2 years ago. The first day was busy (Monday after the holiday week), but the rest of the time, it was really slow. The longest line for anything was 10 minutes. We got to Epcot at 9:30, and thought it was closed. There were only a handful of people there.

We're definitely planning our next trip during that time period. It was great!

I have heard NYE is packed out to capacity but after 3rd it is empty. We have been january before and had good hot weather and you could keep going on the same ride over and over again cos there were no queues ! My DH thinks this is the best time though I prefer even hotter weather!

It's a great time to go - decorations still abound and the crowd levels are moderate. We'll be at OKW on 1/1-1/8.

Thank you all for some good news. I hope that's just the way it is this jan. This will be our first trip in Jan and I have been wondering what the crowds would be like.

The lighter crowds really intrigue me but what about the weather?? We usually go in April........in the upper 80's and absolutely no rain.....how does January compare??

We went January about 4 years ago when it was low 40's in the mornings. With sweatshirts, caps and gloves it was still good. I would rather layer up and take off later in the day than walk about in 80-90 degree weather and sweating. We are also going Dec 31 2006 for 6 days.

The weather can be 70s during the day in Januray, or even 80s....we had a nice 10 day run in the 80s last January. However, we can also get down in the 50s for a day or two and can dip into the high 30s at night. So you really need to pack for anything and everything. And even though the pools are heated, it's not great swimming weather in general.

The weather pattern here in the winter is similar to what we used to experience when we lived up north. Similar weather for anywhere from 3 to 7 days and then a cold front moves through. In the summer...with the effect of the sea breezes colliding it's a totally different ballgame. We get hot, humid and thunderstorms.

We were there this past MLK day-the the Thurs. and Fri. before (Disney Magic on Sat. on).

In MK we started in Tomorrowland and had most of the whole park done by noon. That's with repeat rides, it was pretty amazing! We couldn't walk fast enough!

When we went to Blizzard Beach, we were four of nine people in the whole park! There were more Lifeguards!
