We have gone twice in last 3 years. 3 years ago we went spring break week ( aka last week in march ) stayed onsite and it was fun but very packed.

This year we went first week in march and had a great time, lines were very reasonable to almost non-existent.

We are thinking about going back this year in late december ... either the week sunday 18th to 24th or xmas week the 24th to 30th.

What's it like that time of year? Bad idea, good idea, who has recommendations or advice?

Probably will stay at contemporary.

Thanks in advance anyone responding.

PS Is there any sites that give info such as attendance figures at disney or hotels on a weekly historical basis?

The worst crowds of the year come the week after Xmas. You may wish to avoid that time--MK is super-packed. WDW is not too bad earlier in Dec. (the 18-20) but get steadily more crowded up until Xmas. Personally, I'd opt for earlier in Dec. if AT ALL possible.

Disney attendance figures are confidential and are never released but I can tell you from experience that the week from the 24-31 is THE busiest week of the year so AVOID it if you can!!! As soon as school is out the families start arriving at WDW so the earlier in DEC you can go the better off you will be.

Enjoy your trip!

The week prior to Christmas will be the better of the two weeks you asked about. Took is correct, if you can go earlier, do it. :earsboy:
