How busy is June?

This is the first year in a new school district that really frowns on vacations during the year. With us liking 10-14 days it looks like we have to go after school is out. Just how busy are the parks in early to middle June? We went once in July and won't make that mistake again with the heat and the crowds. Is June nearly as bad as July? Thanks :sunny:

I was there from June 18-26 this year. It was hot, humid, crowded, hot, crowded, hot....you get the picture. Perhaps a bit earlier in the month it isn't so bad.

Summer crowds start building on Memorial Day weekend and peak on July 4 weekend. In between (i.e. the month of June) crowds seem to get bigger each day. So if you're going in June and want to avoid big crowds, I'd suggest you go as early as possible in June.

Unless you get out EARLY (before mid-month) you are going to get big crowds. We went down two Junes and we found it very hot and very crowded. This year we went in august (19th - 28th) and while it was hot and humid, the crowds were lighter. I really didn't mind the humidity and we will go back again next august as I prefer it over June.

Maybe cut down the vacation a little and pull them out. Just remember, they are your kids. (I know this is a hot botton topic, just my opinion) They will certainly benfit much more from a family vacation than from the few days of school they will be missing - I personally cannot remeber any 5 day stretches of school, but you had better believe I remember most if not all of the family vacations we took when I was young - a LONG time ago.

A Disney vacation is one I would definitely pull my kids for. There is no magic in going when the rest of the world does only to stand in lines in 90 degree heat.

Hey goofy4tink - I was also there June 19-26!

I agree, it was hot & crowded. It seems to be more crowded in June, but not as hot & humid as it is in August. If you could get away with an early June trip, before most schools let out, that might be better. But, even crowded & hot, it's always a good time to go to WDW!!

Our past two trips to WDW have been in June. This year we went 14th-24th. Crowds were VERY manageable--but, we followed Unofficial Guide as to which parks to avoid which days. We also used Fastpass religiously. So--we never waited more than 15 or 20 minutes for an attraction/ride.
June is very do-able. We've been in August, too, and I remember being hot and miserable, but I was also in my first trimester of pregnancy (day-long morning sickness :crazy2: ). I think hot is hot, so June and August make no difference to me, temperature-wise. Go and have fun! (But do your research beforehand!) :flower:

We were there from June 15-23. Up until around the 20th or 21st the crowds were large but manageable. All of a sudden towards the end of our stay every place was mobbed! We tried hopping from park to park but found no relief anywhere. Luckily we had done everything we wanted and were just going back over some favorites. Also, from our experience in June you can forget the evening EMH. More crowded with more wait times than during some parts of the day. At the Studios we were lucky to overhear a CM tell someone that they reopen the FP machines for the evening EMH. We grabbed FP for TOT right away and that was our only ride that night. Everything had long wait times and the next FP were far into the night so we left. If you must go in June go as early as possible in the month. Also plan on getting to the parks early. We had no problems at any park early in the day (EMH or regular). We were at the MK early on Thursday and Saturday mornings and found no waits or lines at Big Thunder or Splash while Tomorrowland was busy but not too bad. We even got to see Mickey's Philharmagic Thursday morning with about six other people.
Good luck planning and deciding.

I was there June 20-25 this year. The crowds were bad, but we had more trouble with the rain. It rained everyday on and off.
But... we still had a wonderful time. Rain, crowds, heat...it's still fun. It's Disney World!!!

We went June 12-18 in 2004 and had a great time. It was crowded, but not nearly as crowded as it was when we went during Easter week! I don't care for hot weather, but it wasn't bad. Just when the heat would get to me, we'd be entering an a/c attraction...and there are many of those! And the pool felt great! The skies looked threatening on most afternoons around 3, but we only had one day where the rain interfered with our plans. We often went back to the hotel to rest and swim during the late afternoon and then went back to the parks. I'd recmd June! Have fun!

We were there for our first trip from June 20-July 1. The crowds were incredible but we were able to manage it because we had 10 days. You just have to have a plan. I didn't mind the heat but it did rain alot. It just depends upon your family and how they handle crowds.
