How busy is HHI in August?

we've been to HHI three times, but always at March. During that time we really enjoy how quiet the resort as well as the entire Hilton Head Island feels.

I know the summer is busier, but how noticeable is the increased occupancy? Are things busy enough such that it's hard to get into restaurants for supper on the island? How busy is the resort pool and the beach house pool, as well as the beach itself?

We have been at the HHI resort for the past 3 years in August. I will say it is crowded but not overbearingly so. The main pool does get crowded and it can be a little difficult to get chairs . But the beach house pool was never as crowded and there were always chairs available there. The beach itself never seemed packed either because it's so big. As for restaurants it was hit and miss... some restaurants we walked right into others we had long waits. We definitely learned after the first year if there was a restaurant we wanted to go to to make a reservation for it.

The only thing I wanted to add is regarding the restaurants.
We have a few favorites that do not accept reservations so we go right when they open for dinner....usually at 5pm. otherwise we have waited over an hour to be seated.
