how busy is Columbus Day weekend?

We usually go to WDW in October between Columbus Day and Halloween. This year, it looks like our best days fall during Columbus Day weekend. How crowded is it? We will probably be there October 7 (arriving late evening) through the 13th (leaving the evening of Columbus Day) and we'll be staying off-site, hoping for a good priceline bargain.

We went Columbus Day weekend in 2001. Granted it was right after 9/11 so I am sure the crowds dont really compare to now, but when we went the only "bad" day was the Saturday of the Columbus Day 3-day weekend.
We were at MK that day and it was pretty crowded. The lines were long by mid-afternoon. Plus that night was the only night that week that they were having Spectromagic parade so everyone was there to see that. They did end up scheduling an additional parade that night to accomodate everyone.

After Saturday though, the rest of week was great. Low crowds and hardly any waits.
