Okay, it's been 3 years since our last trip to DL. Blue Bayou is a must. Last time, I made reservations, but they didn't seem all that necessary. . . I'm stretching a business trip to San Diego into a long weekend at DL -- taking teenage daughter. So, a table for two for lunch on Thursday, August 22 or Friday August 23 - reservations or wing it?:confused3

Thanks!
Judy

I'd make the reservations. It seems that it is getting harder and harder to get into the Blue Bayou. A few years ago we were almost always able to get in as a walk in, but not so much anymore. The last time I called, (last month) I was told that they were totally booked for at least two weeks. I was asking for a table for 4 anytime for a Thursday or Friday. One the other hand, I did get a table for 3 once a few months ago as a walk in, with no wait, after being told they were booked.:confused3 Guess they had some no shows or cancelations.
Either way, if you can make reservations, I'd say go for it. What have you got to lose?

Definitely make reservations! It's just a phone call. You can always cancel if you can't make it. It's also good to get the time you want and know you will be seated within the time requested.

There is also Cafe Orleans which is across the way from Blue Bayou if they happen to be booked. Not the same ambiance, but the food is about the same. (Cost is less.) Have fun!

Every time I've been at the Blue Bayou in the past few years, there are always people attempting to make a same day reservation. I've yet to hear anyone be able to get in, it's a "happening place" these days.

As there is only two of you it might be a bit easier to get in on the day. When DF and I were in WDW a couple of years ago we got seated in most restaurants almost straight away as we were a couple as opposed to a family of four or more - which I suppose is probably what alot of groups are made up of that go to 'the Disney's'!

But then again you never know and as everyone else has said, booking is just a simple phone call.

Actually does anyone know if there is an international number for reservations? I'm from the UK and we'll be in Disneyland the week after you Judy and did fancy going to the Blue Bayou - I'll just have to remember the 8 hour time difference!!

Is the Blue Bayou inside DL? Where can I find more about this restaurant? Sounds good! My DD and I will be there in a few weeks and we might want to try it out for dinner :)

Thanks!
Jacque

Yes, the BB is inside DL, in fact, it's inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride! Here's a link to menus:

Here's another one with pictures of the food:

A lot of posters agree that it is a must-do. If you decide to go, be sure to get reservations in advance!
