How busy does Geyser Point get?

We want to take a boat from MK to WL to grab a drink and some food at Geyser Point sometime in the evening on our upcoming trip. How busy does it get? Is there a good time of day to go?

I stayed at WL over Thanksgiving week and visited during the day for lunch one day around NYE.

My experience was the crowds were "lumpy." Generally speaking, the daytime is reasonable.... no to low/moderate waits. Things pick up in the evening and there can often be a wait. We walked up one night over Thanksgiving week to what appeared to be no line and the CM was like "yeah, it'll be at least an hour." Doh.

Another night I walked right up and found two seats at the bar right away.

The day we had lunch we were seated right away, within 15 mins there was a line.

Geyser Point also unfortunately serves as the bar for both pools (this is my biggest gripe about WL) so that sometimes has an influence on the line too.

That said, there's usually very friendly CMs at the entrance to manage things/get your name on the list if there is a wait.

Not the worst resort in the world to take a little stroll around the building/grounds if you can't be seated right away.

Also obviously my recent experiences were higher traffic holiday weeks, so that may have influenced our experiences for sure - so YMMV!

Thank you! We haven't been to WL and thought if we were going over to GP we would use that time to explore the resort a bit before heading back the parks.

Sounds like a great plan to me!

Since you said evening - and you're probably already on top of this - but make sure to keep mind of MK hours in case you're talking late evening. Bouncing around resorts w/ MK transportation used to be easy since MK was often open so late... but given shorter hours on some dates it's possible to find yourself in a bit of a transportation bind if your evening runs late (easy to do enjoying beverages at Geyser Point) and you're 100% relying on Disney transportation.

I want to try the Bison burger over there but I feel like it’s been hyped up so much I’m bound to be disappointed

Mid-day should be pretty open. It usually gets busy after the parks start closing and people make their way back to the resort. During the week I didn't have much of a wait. Friday night I think I was told 50 minute wait time. :faint:

During the day it's decent! If you hit it when parks close/dinner-ish time, there can be quite a line because of limited food options there and the nice setting! We went this Monday night and lucked out being about third because shortly after that, a much longer line formed. My trips around lunch time have been seated almost immediately though!

By husband had it the other night and he really liked it! It looked good!

Out of curiosity- Matterhorn - we are planning on doing dinner there two Monday’s from now. We arrive at Fort Wilderness on 2/8 and I thought a trip on the boats (to MK then to WL) would be relaxing and then dinner at Geyser Point.

What time did you get there Mon night? I was thinking we would head over to arrive around 5pm.

We did it as a lunch/mid-day break on our MK days during a Christmas trip in 2019 - so regular crowds. It was just 2 of us so we always found a seat at the bar.
